The DoW just awarded a $9.7B enterprise Microsoft licensing agreement through Dell Federal Systems - consolidating fragmented IT budgets into a single vehicle and projecting $422M in annual savings.

For Navy and DoD programs, the implications go beyond cost. A unified licensing structure supports the cross-domain data sharing CJADC2 depends on. That's not a minor footnote.

Recap #2 from a busy conference week at Giesler LLC -

Tara Hill represented the team at the AFCEA Maritime Operations & Information Warfare Summit (MOIS 2026) in Norfolk — three days of panels, matchmaking, and conversations with Navy and DoD leadership.

A few themes that came up again and again:

🔹 Zero Trust isn't a future initiative — it's a funded, deadline-driven priority. FY27 targets are real for networks, FY30 for OT and weapons systems. For companies doing RMF/A&A work in afloat and DIL environments, the demand signal is loud.

🔹 The "Cattle Drive" is in motion. Legacy systems across the DON are being migrated, bundled into enterprise services, or retired by 2027. If you're in Navy IT modernization, this is the landscape.

🔹 Acquisition is shifting. OTAs, Commercial Solutions Openings, and platforms like TradeWinds are replacing traditional RFPs in more and more program offices. Multiple panels pointed industry toward https://www.peodigital.navy.mil/Industry/ as a direct submission channel.

🔹 AI has moved from exploration to deployment. Edge computing, predictive maintenance, AI-augmented cyber defense — these aren't concepts on a roadmap anymore. They're funded and fielding.

🔹 NCTAMS modernization is a real priority. The vision is a transport-agnostic, AI-enabled "smart NCTAMS" — and the transition from legacy to modern systems is creating demand for people who understand both.

Grateful for the access and transparency from Navy leadership across all three days. This is how industry engagement should work.

Big week for Giesler LLC — our team was out at two events last week, and we're still processing everything we picked up.

First up — Patricia Giesler attended the NSWCDD 2026 Small Business Outreach & Engagement Event.

The short version: the pipeline is real, the growth trajectory is meaningful, and the Small Business Office brought genuine substance to the room.

Patricia came away with direct insight into near-term acquisition activity, program priorities, and the specific steps small businesses can take to position themselves for upcoming opportunities. If you're in this space and haven't been engaging with NSWCDD's Small Business Office, that's worth revisiting.

Thank you to Allison Strong, NSWCDD Deputy for Small Business, for running an event that respected attendees' time and delivered real answers to hard questions. This is what meaningful small business engagement looks like.

Giving Back Matters. ⚓

We know what some people might think — a playground? Aren't there bigger needs?


We get it. And we understand.


But anyone who has kids — or has ever worked with kids — knows that play isn't just "extra."


Especially for children who have already walked through more than most of us can imagine — kids who were abandoned, abused, orphaned, or surrendered by young mothers or families too poor to care for them. Children born with HIV. Children released by parents who had no other choice, hoping their child would have a better life. These kids carry things no child should carry.
A playground isn't really about exercise. It's about joy. Healing. Laughter. Friendship. Feeling safe enough to just be a kid for a while.


These children deserve more than survival. They deserve moments where they can laugh, imagine, play, and just feel normal and loved.

A playground becomes so much bigger than equipment when you look at it that way.


At Giesler LLC, we consider it an honor to support Agape Home in Chiang Mai, Thailand — a Christ-centered children's home where more than 100 children live, learn, and grow together every day.


The playground these children use daily is old, rusted, and in many places no longer safe. Some areas have already been closed to protect the children from injury.

We are proud to stand behind a project to replace the entire playground with safe, durable wooden play structures across four dedicated zones — from toddlers to teenagers — plus a gathering space for the whole Agape family and guests.


This is a big project. And it starts with people willing to plant the first seeds.

Sea-Air-Space 2026 is a wrap ~ and what a week.

We came to National Harbor to listen, learn, and connect — and the conference delivered.

Here's what stood out:
The maritime defense investment signal is clear. From shipbuilding to uncrewed surface vessels to Naval IT modernization, the Navy and Coast Guard are moving with urgency — and expecting industry to keep pace. Panels with TYCOM flag officers, Coast Guard acquisition executives, and maritime industry leaders made that plain.

The sessions we prioritized ~ Naval IT modernization, uncrewed maritime systems, speed to the fleet, and TYCOM readiness ~ reinforce what we already believe: cleared, capable, mission-focused small businesses have a critical role to play in what comes next.

We also had great conversations across the floor with V2X, Noblis, Sayres Defense, PacAero, F2AI, and Peraton. Always good to reconnect with people doing serious work.

2 days to Sea-Air-Space ~ bags are packed.

This is one of those weeks where the defense community actually feels like a community. Old shipmates, new introductions, and hallway conversations that somehow always end up being the most valuable part of the whole event.

We'll be at the Ga***rd National through Wednesday, walking the exhibit halls and catching sessions on everything from TYCOM readiness to maritime cyber to acquisition reform.

If we've worked together before, come say hello ~ it's always good to reconnect in person. If we haven't met yet, even better. Flag us down.
