Hey y'all, first off thanks for following our page. Ever since we left our project at Georgia Tech, we renovated a couple houses and have been dormant for a bit, but we are gearing up steam and we always had it in our mind to keep trying to help veterans on their path to home ownership through home renovation and urban farming workforce development.
Again, we would like to provide jobs in home renovation and urban farming to veterans to give them income, a path to home ownership and good food through urban farming.
We currently have possible three types of jobs lined up.
1. Apartment maintenance in College Park. We have an apartment complex, actually 1-2 story condos, that need roof repair, grass mowing, concrete driveways poured and general apartment maintenance like soffit repair, etc. If you are a veteran or know of one who has some experience in the above, please reply.
2&3 - in the next couple months, we hope to have two homes in need of renovation. The first is just south of downtown Atlanta, just off of 75/85 and the other is in Fair Oaks (Marietta). Both properties will need a heavy cleanout and demolition and we'll need tilers, kitchen and bath installers, general carpentry and roof work, etc. It would be great if you have experience, but if not, that is fine as we are learning to train veterans in different types of home repair and we'll get experienced contractors to lead the effort.
All that being said, if you know of anyone needing home repair or would like an urban farm on their property, please reply and we will pair veterans in your area to the work that needs to be done.
Through all of our collective efforts, we plan to help Atlanta veterans 'man their posts'...helping to give them employment in home renovation and urban farming at a location very near to where they live to reduce transportation costs and time.
Thank you and please share.
