We love seeing our team involved in meaningful causes.

Jillian Boyle recently participated in a 5K supporting Pups with a Purpose, an incredible program helping shelter dogs prepare for loving homes while supporting rehabilitation efforts.

Even cooler, Mavis and Poppy are cared for by Dr. Doiron at West Forsyth Animal Hospital, a VMG member practice.

Good people doing good things for animals and communities. That’s worth celebrating.

The Defender Kentucky Three-Day Event was an incredible opportunity for VMG to connect with partners, our VMG members, and the passionate equine community that continues to move veterinary medicine forward.

We were proud to have Allison Sirna representing VMG throughout the event, building relationships and celebrating the spirit of collaboration that makes gatherings like this so impactful.

A special thank you to our valued partners, Zoetis and CareCredit, for helping create meaningful experiences during an unforgettable weekend of competition, community, and connection. From the Veterinary Lounge sponsored by Zoetis & VMG, to CareCredit's private hospitality tent on Cross-Country day, it was inspiring to see so many professionals and supporters come together in support of equine veterinary care.

We’re grateful to be part of events that strengthen our industry and the partnerships that help shape its future. 🐎

Productive days of collaboration, strategic discussions, and shared learning with VMG-15 in New Orleans. Alongside focused meeting sessions, the group also enjoyed time at the Audubon Zoo, including the opportunity to connect with the zoo’s onsite veterinarian. Grateful to see members continuing to invest in learning and growth.

“Perspective…Belonging…My sounding board…Family.”
That’s how members describe VMG—and it came to life over three days at the 2026 Congress of the VMGs, our largest gathering to date.

Under this year’s theme, “Ascend Together,” members came together to share insight, challenge one another, and strengthen the relationships that drive independent veterinary practices forward.

Throughout Congress, speakers, Preferred Partners and session panels explored the future of the profession—from economic outlooks and leadership development to communication and innovation.

In the final sessions, Brian Beaulieu provided a forward-looking perspective on the decade ahead, followed by Matt Salois, Ph.D., who reinforced a central theme: progress is a choice—and one we make together.

This recap features perspectives from VMG members including Scott Linick, DVM, FAVD (VMG-33 & VMG-35), Elizabeth Clyde, DVM (VMG-17), Michael Mison, DVM, DACVS (VMG-30), Lindsay Peltier, LVT (VMG-46), Susan Baker, DVM (VMG-05), and Manuel Lima, DVM (VMG-41).

As Congress 2026 concluded, one truth emerged with renewed clarity: VMG is a community defined not just by rising success, but by heightened connections.

We look forward to what we’ll build together. See you at the 2028 Congress!

• Beth Scott, CPA, sharing insights from the latest VMG DATALINK Trends Update
• Nik Wallenda, world-record-holding high wire artist, delivering an inspiring message about courage and purpose
• Dr. Dani Rabwin, exploring how shared decision-making strengthens trust with clients
• Kwame Christian, expert mediator and podcast host, teaching principles and practical techniques for conflict resolution, including this great reminder: “The best things in life often lie on the other side of difficult conversations.”

In this recap we hear from Loren Nations, DVM, DABVP (VMG-01) reflecting on the heart and care that define the veterinary profession, and Michael Mison, DVM, DACVS (VMG-30) discussing the importance of connecting veterinary educators with the practices preparing new graduates for Day-1 work readiness.

Together, their perspectives speak to both the heart and the future of the profession.

One more morning of Congress ahead!
