I have one and will get at least one more to have around the house. With all of the changes, creep and shifts happening to Downtown Lexington, I want to have my little pieces.

For me, these bricks are reminders of the walks that my grandmother took us on downtown when there was still a hardware store, and Leggett’s, and the toy store with the train set in the front window. The owner would see us outside and always turn it on for us. Then we would go get doughnuts and eclairs from the bakery before heading back home. If they didn’t have any chocolate iced doughnuts left in the case, those amazing ladies would rush back through the saloon doors to the kitchen and come out with one to eat and more to take home. I can still picture EXACTLY what that place looked like.

All of the anecdotes to say that, as a native Lexingtonian, I can’t wait to bring a few more sidewalk bricks home.

Isolation window tint in Roanoke, VA, is the place to go if you want your ride tinted. Quincy is amazing at what he does, is professional and has a great shop space. I wouldn’t go anywhere else.

Being a small business owner is hard.

Social media will have you believe otherwise. It looks like having a presence, consistent branding and a product that meets "a" need is all it takes. That has to be all it's about, right?

The answer is NO. A basic AI-derived generic business plan combined with attractive branding is how you get into the market. The next steps are the factors that will ultimately determine how successful and sustainable your business will be in the long-term.

Those next steps are when the hard work starts.

One of my goals as a small business owner myself is to improve this situation. I was on the Advisory Board for the Walker Program and remember the initial excitement.

Mentorship is critical to the sustainability of small business in that it provides the ongoing advice and insight needed to get paying customers through the door and to keep them coming back.

There are few Black-owned businesses in Lexington. A city council member says the last Black-owned stores on Main Street were sold in 2018.

The crew at Green Valley Hunters Paradise is amazing! They love and respect every aspect of what they do, and they’re located right up the road in Millboro. It doesn’t matter if you’re a first-timer, a novice or if you consider yourself a pro, this establishment is one to connect with no matter your background.

Hello friends! I almost missed my self-imposed deadline to share this information because I didn't want anyone to think it was an April Fool's prank. 😂

I've been quietly working a "side-gig" since January 5th. Now that the results are rolling in, I feel confident in sharing it with all of you because I can now speak to the whole process and attest that it's actually real.
