These parts were literally, HOT off the (punch) press at a recent customer, pun intended. This was the customer's first punching machine and we helped them implement the software with a variety of special tools to create this part. See the comments for another photo of the finished parts.

Flashback Friday to 2007. A manufacturer was looking to bring their sheet metal fabrication in house. They were referred to us by three different sources. It was a 6-7 month project involving consulting on design for manufacturing, tooling selection, programming, along with a long list of other things. The conclusion of the project was proving their parts out on the refurbished Amada Pega 344 turret & Amada RG35 press brake that they were purchasing. We initially ran about a dozen different parts and later went on to program over 150 different products.

Today's words of wisdom...
Just because you can do something doesn't mean you should. Know what your capabilities are and work within them. If a job is going to cause countless headaches for a minimal profit, or worse yet, cost you money, know when to pass on it. While not every job has the same profit margin, don't take work just to "stay busy."

On this day 25 years ago I started my career in manufacturing. Little did I know when I walked into that first sheet metal fabrication shop that I would start my own company 10 years later. Or that I'd celebrate my 15th Anniversary running that company this year. I've been fortunate enough to work with some great people and I appreciate all the help I've received along the way. Here's to 2019 and beyond!
