One of the best parts of the work at Cross & Dot are the leaders we support. Most of our leadership clients are in the C-Suite, which means they are behind the scenes, leading decision making, managing the administrivia, and ensuring the vision and mission are the focus.
Most of the time, the spotlight is not on our leaders, but we are changing that!
✨Cross & Dot is excited to share our first Leader Spotlight! ✨
Danielle Mack is the Executive Director of Ethos Classical, a charter school in Atlanta. Danielle is a native of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and attended Washington University and Penn State. She started her career in education as the Dean of College Counseling at a charter network in Chicago.
Danielle’s passion for the charter school commuity started in her home with her own children. “I wanted to open a school for my child and build a place to bring together folks who are passionate about transforming what education can be for children.” Danielle has most definitely made strides towards this goal! Ethos has experience steady growth since opening its doors in 2020. Ethos opened its middle school and second campus for the 2025 - 26 school year!
When we asked Danielle what has been the most surprising or unexpected thing about leading a charter school, she says, “Being a leader requires immense amounts of creativity and innovation and lots of patience! Leading a small district, I still have to accomplish all of the same things as a leader in a (large) district, but I often do it alone or with my executive leadership team. I’m needed to be the expert in so many areas. It can sometimes feel like your on an island.”
Danielle has a great leadership team at Ethos. She leads the weekly team meeting where wins are shared and blockers are presented to the team for collaboration, strategy, and feedback. Danielle is intentional about building community among the leadership because she understands the inherent need for support, collaboration, and collegiality.
When you walk through the halls at Ethos Classical, you immediately feel the warmth and spirit of Danielle’s leadership. The adults are welcoming and eager to share about their work with their students. The students are loving to each other and to their teachers and leaders. Learning and leading is clearly the focus at Ethos - every classroom is named after an important African American leader and the students reflect the courage and confidence embodied by Danielle and her faculty and staff.
Ethos campuses are located in Atlanta and East Point, GA. Ethos serves families zoned for Atlanta Public Schools, Fulton County Schools, Dekalb County Schools, Clayton County Schools, Cobb County Schools & Douglas County Schools. Ethos Classical Charter School will be enrolling Grades K-7 for Fall 2026.
