Back-to-school season isn’t just for students.📚✏️

It’s a good reminder for all of us to stay curious, keep learning, and remember there’s always room to grow.

The strongest leaders ask questions, seek new perspectives, and keep learning alongside their teams.

As a new school year begins, it’s worth considering:

How are you creating space for continued growth—for yourself and for your team? 🧠

AI can make us faster—but it shouldn’t replace the judgment, intuition, and critical thinking that make leadership human.

Our latest blog explores why those skills matter now more than ever. Give it a read- linked in our bio!

Last week, we facilitated a virtual workshop focused on building executive presence!💻✨

One of the central reminders from the session was that executive presence is not reserved for executives.

Every interaction—with a customer, colleague, team member, or senior leader—shapes how others experience you and the organization you represent.

Through our What MATters framework, participants explored three essential questions:
🔹 Method: How am I showing up?
🔹 Audience: Who am I trying to influence?
🔹 Timing: Is this the right moment, message, and response?

Executive presence is not about being the loudest person in the room or having every answer. It is demonstrated through clarity, composure, strong judgment, intentional communication, and the ability to adapt to the people and circumstances around you.

It is not a performance. It is a skill—and one that can be strengthened through practice.

Is your feed full of people telling you to have an old fashioned summer?
Unscheduled. Unplanned. Unbothered.

For some of you, that’s actually happening. Others are in the thick of it, navigating travel, transitions, activity schedules, and the very human attempt to be present in one place while life pulls in three directions.

The fantasy is lovely. The calendar disagrees.

But here’s what summer quietly offers: a forcing function. The moments where you genuinely can’t be the one to handle something are the moments that show you whether your team is actually set up to catch it.

Most delegation fails right there. Not because people aren’t capable, but because there’s no shared model. No common language for what’s being handed over, what authority comes with it, what done actually looks like, or when to check back in. So you end up hovering. Or hoping. Neither works.

The leaders who get their summers back and walk into fall with a stronger team aren’t just letting go. They’ve done the work to make sure their team knows how to receive.

That’s not a personality trait. It’s a trainable skill. For you and for them. And it’s exactly the kind of work we love to do.

Something we get asked a lot: how do you actually transfer leadership skills back to the job? Our answer is pretty consistent. Get people out of the room. Navy SEALs. Astronauts. A rowing shell on open water.

We design around the real pressures teams face, and the experiences tend to stick in a way a slide deck doesn’t.

On July 15, we’re giving LTEN members a look inside how we build these programs at LTEN Demo Days: Beyond the Classroom — Experiential Learning that Ignites the Senses.

If you’re curious to see more, drop a comment or reach out directly. We’d love to hear from you.

P.S. We’ve heard it time and again — the experience is memorable, but the real shift comes when people take the time to reflect and integrate. We’ll show you how we build for that.

Your most powerful operating system isn’t your phone.

New iOS drops and most of us install it the same day. Watches, laptops, apps — kept current without a second thought. But when did you last do a real update on yourself?

We all have an emotional operating system. It’s what’s running underneath everything else — how you handle pressure, how you show up when a conversation gets hard, how you give feedback, how you take it. Most of it was shaped a long time ago by things you didn’t choose.

A lot of people have never gone back in to look.

And outdated software doesn’t always crash. Sometimes it just runs a little slow. Creates friction you can’t quite name. Makes certain conversations harder than they need to be.

That’s true for people. It’s just as true for teams.

Most teams inherit their emotional operating system without ever naming it — how trust works, how conflict gets handled, whether people feel safe enough to say the thing that actually needs to be said.

The leaders who invest in that work — not just skills and strategy, but the stuff underneath — are the ones whose teams can feel the difference.

When did you last run an update?

The excitement from LTEN has settled, but the gratitude hasn’t. Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth, joined one of our sessions, or simply said hello. The learning industry draws remarkable people, and a few days surrounded by that kind of energy is hard not to carry home.

We’re heading into the second half of the year with fresh thinking and a lot of momentum. If we connected last week, you’ll be hearing from us soon — and if we didn’t get the chance to talk, we’d love to change that.

Let’s chat- Message us!

Something historic is rolling across America right now.

Big Boy No. 4014 — the world’s largest operating steam locomotive — is on its first-ever coast-to-coast journey, headed to Philadelphia to celebrate America’s 250th birthday. 135 feet long. 1.2 million pounds. It stops traffic everywhere it goes.

But most people don’t know it sat dormant for over 50 years before Union Pacific brought it back. The restoration took years. The tour itself requires coordination across multiple teams just to move one train down the tracks. Union Pacific’s own crew called it “a great masterpiece of teamwork and cooperation.”

That sounds familiar, doesn’t it?

Some of the most meaningful goals — the ones that feel too big, too slow, too complicated to ever reach — aren’t hero problems. They’re team problems. They need people who know how to share the load, trust each other with the hard parts, and keep moving toward the destination.

That goal on your Q4 whiteboard? It has a route. It just needs the right people pulling together to get it there.

What’s your Big Boy goal this year? 👇

Leadership comes to life when people experience it, not just talk about it.

From rowing shells and racing circuits to tennis courts, space centers, horses, Navy SEAL training, and more—our Experience Based Learning (EBL) programs are designed to create the kind of moments that shift perspectives, strengthen teams, and inspire action.

Because the most memorable lessons aren’t learned in a classroom. They’re lived.

Pick one. Create a shared experience. Invest in your people.

Future you—and your team—will be glad you did.🚣‍♂️🏇🚀🎾🏎️
