Tonight was exactly what Friday Night Wind Down was created for.

A room of women with good hearts, sharing space with one another.

We had empowering conversations. Fun conversations. Holy conversations. We laughed, we ate, we sang some karaoke, and somewhere in between all of that, connections were made.

There was no pressure to perform or be anything other than present. We simply had a good evening together, and sometimes, that's exactly what you need.

Thank you to every woman who joined us for our first Friday Night Wind Down: Karaoke Night at the SpeakUpSis Empowerment Center. You helped make the room what it was tonight.

We'll do it again on the fourth Friday in September with Spoken Word & Storytelling Night.

We are officially LESS THAN 20 DAYS away from the 4th Annual SpeakUpSis Gala!

If you've been saying, “I need to get my ticket,” now is the time. September 13th will be here before we know it.

We're bringing together community, storytelling, spoken word, good food, dancing, celebration, and most importantly, an opportunity to honor people who have made a meaningful impact in the lives of others.

This is more than getting dressed up and going somewhere. We're creating an evening where we can celebrate good work, good people, and the legacy being built right here in our communities.

If you've never attended a SpeakUpSis Gala, this is the year.

Women over 40 need spaces, too. Many empowerment spaces welcome all women; however, they are actually designed with younger women in mind.

Both intergenerational and generation-specific spaces are needed. That's why we host the Grown Woman Room on the 3rd Saturday of the month. Although women of all ages are welcome, it is a room cutated for women in midlife and beyond to connect and converse with other women who just "get it."
