Sometimes the biggest barriers to veterinary care aren't distance. They're awareness and access.

A student once asked us where they could get their pet vaccinated after learning why vaccines matter. Another shared that their dog had died from parvovirus because their family didn't know vaccines were available.

Those conversations became a call to action. That's why we created VETunity Day.

VETunity Day extends the impact of our Youth Pathways programs by connecting students, their families, and their communities with free veterinary services, trusted resources, and the people who can help.

Since 2024, we've brought VETunity to communities in New York City (Bronx and Queens), Miami, San Diego, and Chula Vista, helping families access vaccinations, grooming services, educational resources, and meaningful conversations about animal health and veterinary careers.

These events are about more than caring for pets.

They're about building trust with families, meeting parents where they are, strengthening communities, and inspiring the next generation of veterinary professionals.

We're grateful to VEG ER for Pets for sponsoring this work and to our incredible partners ASPCA, Nestlé Purina North America, and Bond Vet for helping make these community events possible. Together, we've turned access to care into celebration—creating welcoming spaces where families can learn, connect, and discover new opportunities.

The biggest moment at the Kentucky Derby this year wasn’t just the finish line. It was what the moment represented.

👉🏾 History was made with the first female trainer to win the Kentucky Derby.
👉🏾 Puerto Rican jockey José Ortiz reminded people that Latin American culture and talent have long been woven into the foundation of horse racing.
👉🏾 Somewhere, a young person watched the Derby and saw themselves.

That matters far beyond sports. Representation shapes how people see a profession — and whether they can feel they belong.
