I am so excited to be trying a new textile recycling program from ♻️ I will admit that if I don’t feel an item I’d worthy of being resold because it is stained or ripped, I hold onto it for long than I should because I feel guilty about the fabric just ending up in a landfill. Next thing you know, my sock drawer is nothing but stained or ripped 10 year old socks that I just don’t know what to do with and refuse to toss in the trash.

For Days accepts all textiles, including socks, underwear, sheets, pillow cases, towels, linens, shoes, and handbags in any condition. Everything gets recycled through their recycling partners!

My drawers and linen closet have a bit more room! 🧺

February Book of the Month: The Curated Closet by Anuschka Rees

I’m really excited for this one! I bought this in 2021 with one of my 2022 resolutions to be to complete the work book and joy check my wardrobe. Then I got pregnant and evaluating a wardrobe that was about to be replaced by maternity clothes seemed rather silly. Now that I’m at the tail end of the fourth trimester and able to wear regular clothes again, it’s finally time! If your style could use a refresh, I hope you’ll join me 👚👖🧥🧦🧢

January Book of the Month: The Afrominimalist’s Guide to Living with Less by Christine Platt

Happy New Year! It’s officially January and I am booking consults! In honor of the new year, I’ll be announcing a book of the month the first of each month. You can follow along book club style l, if you wish.

Each one will be related to organization, minimalism, or personal development in some way. I’ll be sharing some of my favorite takeaways from each one that will hopefully encourage you to give it a read as well as inspire on your tidying journey.

Recently, someone brought up the barrier of the cost of filling your pantry with matching containers and YES it can get quite pricey 💸

How do you invest in storage containers without spending a fortune?

🫙 Choose a container that is readily available so you won’t risk running out or not being able to find them again in the future. I love containers because I can find them at many stores in my area and they come in a huge variety of sizes.

🫙 Start with your essentials. For me, getting containers for my pantry meant starting with flour, nutritional yeast, dried pasta, etc. Pick your staples and don’t worry about spending money on containers for every little ingredient you might have laying around.

🫙 Wait for coupons or sales and pick up small restocks of containers every once in a while. Plus you’ll learn what sizes or styles you need the most to purchase only those styles. You do not need to fill your pantry all at once.

🫙 If you buy a name brand style of container, it’s easier to check Facebook marketplace or other secondhand marketplaces for deals on your container. Choosing an off brand style of container may make it more difficult to search for the right matching styles or sizes.

🫙 Loving your home and curating it to be your perfect space is a journey! It’s okay if it doesn’t all come together over night.
