AI trust now depends on what you control before AI acts.

In this week’s AI Marketing Signal Brief, I look at how Google’s AI search policies, Salesforce/Claude CRM agents, AI search reporting, and enterprise AI control layers all point to the same issue for B2B teams:

You need to know what AI can access, cite, recommend, and change before it affects visibility, spend, CRM data, buyer trust, or revenue decisions.

This one is about practical control points, not abstract AI policy.

AI trust now depends on control points for sources, access, CRM actions, AI search data, and revenue decisions before AI affects the business.

Reddit can influence what AI platforms say about a brand, which has made it a tempting target for fake reviews and planted conversations. Our latest post explains why Reddit astroturfing can damage your reputation and create far more risk than AI visibility.

Reddit astroturfing can expose your brand to public backlash and lasting reputation damage, while the AI citation value you chased can disappear quickly.

Time ran an experiment where companies could pay to show content for AI only that served to validate claims they had made elsewhere. This is NOT the way to do AEO and GEO.

Brands are testing ads aimed at AI crawlers. Learn why paid claims can’t replace the credible outside signals that build lasting visibility in AI answers.

Is your GEO agency selling you the goods, or just repackaged SEO with a higher price and a shiny new nametag?

Your website establishes your brand claims, but GEO authority requires credible third-party validation, consistent entity signals, and external recognition.

What should you allow AI to access, influence, disclose, and act on inside your marketing and revenue systems?

Marketng Signal Brief: AI governance now depends on what AI can access, infer, disclose, recommend, and do. Here’s what B2B companies need to control next.

AI governance used to live in a policy doc.

Now it needs to live in the workflow.

That's the core argument in my latest AI Marketing Signal Brief, and four signals from the past few weeks make the case pretty clearly.

Cloudflare is letting site owners control AI crawler access by purpose: Search, Agent, and Training. Those aren't the same thing, and treating them the same way is costing teams visibility they don't realize they're losing.

Anthropic's Claude Tag puts AI directly into shared Slack channels with scoped memory and admin controls. Once AI joins a shared workspace, "don't paste sensitive data into prompts" isn't enough guidance anymore.

OpenAI's agentic research shows delegation expanding well beyond engineering into marketing, legal, finance, and ops. The thing you need to govern has shifted from AI output to delegated work.

And AI visibility tools like Profound and HubSpot are moving from measurement into ex*****on, routing recommendations to agents before your team has reviewed what changed or why.

The pattern across all four: AI has moved closer to the work. Governance has to follow it there.

Not as abstract policy. As practical control over access, sources, outputs, and review points.

Full brief is linked below. Worth a read if your team is delegating work to AI or sharing AI tools across departments.

If you want help building this kind of governance into your workflows, I work with teams on exactly that through the HAIF (Human + AI Framework). It's a practical system for keeping humans in control of the right decisions while AI handles the rest. Feel free to reach out if you'd like to talk through what that looks like for your team.

AI search and agents are moving into workflows. Learn what B2B teams need to know about visibility, source control, governance, and trust.
