Why “Wait and See” isn’t a Su***de Prevention Strategy 🧠❤️

Did you know that in 2024, nearly 49,000 Americans lost their lives to su***de? That is one death every 11 minutes. While we are seeing some modest declines in certain areas, the numbers for our most vulnerable—like our youth and LGBTQ+ community—continue to be a call to action.

The reality is that most people who are struggling want to be asked. They are waiting for someone to notice the signs.

The Power of Education:
Training is our best defense. Research shows that:

94% of people who take QPR training can accurately identify warning signs afterward.

Training significantly increases a person's confidence and intent to actually step in and ask the hard questions.

Like CPR, you don't need to be a doctor to save a life; you just need to know the right steps to take until professional help arrives.

I am a Certified QPR Instructor, and I’m on a mission to turn our community members into "Gatekeepers." It only takes 2 hours to learn how to Question, Persuade, and Refer.
