Five young women applied to our “Now What?” mentoring program this year because they all landed on the same question, just from different directions.
A couple of high school seniors who have to make a decision about next year as soon as possible, and they’re unsure of what they want. A young woman two years out of high school, signing her first lease, asking if the numbers actually work. A recent college grad trying to figure out her next move while everyone around her expects her to already know. A woman ready to walk away from a job and start over in a field she’s never had anyone to ask about.
These young women call and text Ciara often, to vent, to ask a question, to tell her what they want to talk through in the next session. Ciara asks each what she actually wants, underneath what everyone else expects. They sit with it as long as it takes, whatever it turns out to be.
Ciara is walking with these five right now, ages 17 to 25, for a full year each, one-on-one. Your gift supports them — the calls, the networking dinners and professional rooms she gets them into, the emergency help when life throws something at them mid-year, the small stuff that keeps a plan from falling apart.
