Nick brings an impressive background in accounting, auditing, and financial leadership, including experience as:

✔️ Chief Financial Officer at Hanor Farms
✔️ Assistant Controller at Smithfield Foods
✔️ Most recently a partner at a local CPA Firm.

A graduate of California State University – Hayward with a degree in Business Administration/Accounting, Nick is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in both California and Maine.

His expertise includes corporate, nonprofit, and governmental auditing and attestation services, as well as tax planning and return preparation. Nick's depth of experience and commitment to client service make him a tremendous addition to our growing team.

So.... With that being said, dare we say, we have some capacity in our Assurance practice (when was the last time you heard that). Final Note:

We are taking nearly the entire staff to next week (June 8-11) for a week of high level education in Las Vegas , but will be back with FOUR more announcements including significant additions to our Tax Team when we get back as we continue to work through the workload and build out continued capacity for the future.

Lil, Big Firm Updates:

We're back! Most of the firm enjoyed some time last week after a bear of a tax season, but we are back and working quickly through extensions. We will try and communicate timing as much as possible, but heads are down working through.

And.... our new office is nearing completion. Adding space for another 11 accountants and staff with an expansion of that being currently designed for 2027 with 29 more spots!!!

Speaking of which, we're hiring, experienced accountants specifically. Particularly with corporate tax preparation experience.

Yes, we love the doors.

As we continue to push out returns and get back to meeting with clients, it's really nice to see these. We have a ton of work still to do, including on this return, but gosh do we appreciate all of the support we get.

Back to getting them all done.

This morning we sent an update email to our clients letting them know we're working through returns and we've extended everyone so no one goes late. It's an email I never love sending, but the reality is tax season is down to essentially 10 weeks, and that's just impossible from a businesses standpoint to man 10 weeks and have 40 more that don't have work.

It's also an indication of the industry right now as a whole and the lack of people going into it and the tons currently leaving it. We're going to be right at 50% of returns out the door that we always are, literally every year, with a ton more done. For context, we just finished the same amount that we did in all of 2024, so we are moving returns.

We'll keep pushing, the team is onboard to get through what we have as quickly as we can. Trust me we don't sit on our hands, we're working our tails off.

In the meantime, we got this email this morning. These help. "As a ******* CPA refugee, I can't thank you enough. Your process was simple and your communication was excellent. You've got another raving fan!"

We absolutely love our clients, we'll get through, we always do.

Alright, back to tax returns.

It's been a minute since we've posted.

As all of our clients know we're busy, our growth has been phenomenal and we are trying to keep up the best we can. We are truly nothing but grateful for the trust our clients put in us. As a young firm (year 3) we only have continued upside.

We appreciate all of your patience and we continue to work through the work in the office. It's going to take some time, but we'll get through all of it, we always do.

We're also continually trying to improve our workflows, efficiency and capacity. So, after tax season we're going to be hiring again to increase our staffing. New positions in our firm include:

Front office administration
Experienced Bookkeeper(s)
Senior Accountants(s), preferably with experience with business tax return preparation.

If you or someone you know is looking for a position please point them our way. We're not the worst place to work, we get busy, we work with a lot of people, there's pressure, but we work with the coolest clients and get to work on some fun projects. We also have a completely new and modern office coming in May. Resume's can be submitted to Kristen Forbes at [email protected]. We'll be reviewing after tax season (imagine that).
