Dear Friends,

I have a computer and was online for several years. My primary reason for having and using a computer was to aid me in writing.

However, after a while, I realized that I'm not one who benefits from using a computer. It's a distraction. It drains my energy and steals my time.

Fortunately, my good friend Jeffrey* volunteered to be the Keeper @ the Gate for me, so friends who've lost contact can find me via computer.

Hi, folks! This is Jeffrey Hotchkiss, the curator for Barbara's page. I just got off the phone with her, and wanted to make sure again that everyone knows that she, herself, does not have anything to do with computers, smartphones, or any technology beyond her home phone, radio, and car. She had a computer at one time, but her lovely birds made it into a nesting place and that seemed right.

I created this page with her permission, so that people in an increasingly cyber-ized world would have a way to reach out to her. She is reachable, at her home phone of 207-442-7744, and it does have voice mail.

Barbara is a warm, loving and kind soul, as so many of you know. Her presence is best experienced in person, but the richness of conversation over the phone is a forte for her also.

Whenever you want to connect with her, I am of course happy to pass on Facebook messages. But your phone call will always receive a warm welcome (be patient, sometimes she gets piled up with messages).

You are a unique soul -- that means you deserve the personal attention that she gives you.
