Since that time, we have served 250-300 families in the Baton Rouge area and nearby communities. Typically we are called when a couple needs to relocate, downsize or liquidate the household furnishings. Sadly, we often are asked to assist heirs with furnishings left by deceased relatives. Typically, our first visit to a residence is without charge to the survivors. We look at the furnishings and d
etermine if the operation will benefit both the owners and our company. If the answer is "yes" we suggest a plan. If that plan is acceptable to the owners, a written agreement is effected. Parker agrees to locate, display, assign initial asking prices, advertise, and offer for sale household items. Parker urges the owner to leave the furnishings intact and wait until after the sale to give away and throw away. Parker agrees to pay the costs of labor, supplies, and advertising. Other costs, being out of the ordinary, are negotiable. Unsold items remain the property and responsibility of the owner unless otherwise arranged with Parker Estate Sales. The owner provides homeowners insurance and timely access to the premises. Best sellers are jewelry, 1st edition books, signed art, diaries, historical letters, LSU memorabilia, prized collectibles, porcelains, pottery, tools, quilts, antiques of museum or near-museum quality, automobiles, patio and garden items. Once the sale is concluded, Parker furnishes the owners a sales summary, the original sales books, and a single check for their share of sales proceeds. We are careful with your memories. Every household is as unique as the loved one who accumulated it.
