A good day in the shop.

With the wing sitting in the jig and damaged spar removed, our team carefully worked a new Douglas fir spar into place on this 1984 Great Lakes restoration. It was a slow inch-by-inch process. Small victories like this are what bring a classic biplane back to life.

Now that the spar is whole again, this wing is headed to covering, where it will be one step closer to flying again.

While it is sad to see Barney leave, we had so much fun showing him everything we do here at Centennial. He learned a lot, and managed to stay out of too much trouble. We look forward to spending time with him again next year. Until then, Merry Christmas from our Centennial family to yours!
