Let me paint you a picture, folks.
Two contractors quote the same water heater replacement.
Contractor A walks the job Tuesday at 2pm. Nice guy. Good at his trade. Says "I'll get you a bid by tomorrow evening." Goes home and builds it after dinner.
Contractor B walks the same job at 4pm. Builds the estimate right there in the home while she's standing next to her old water heater, stressed and ready to get this HANDLED.
She signs. On the spot.
Wednesday night, Contractor A's email arrives. She never even opens it.
Hear me on this: Contractor A didn't lose because he was worse. He might've been a better investment! He lost because he showed up with logic AFTER the emotion was gone.
People buy on emotion and justify with logic. The only question is whether you're standing there when it happens or at your kitchen table, working for free on a job that's already gone.
Ever lost a job you KNOW you should've won? Tell us what happened. π
