The stuff we avoid the longest is rarely the actual problem.

It's the story we've built around it... the embarrassment, the "I should have handled this by now." The fear that asking for help means admitting you don't know everything.

I asked for help this week with something I'd been putting off way too long. The person I reached out to didn't blink and eye... just asked questions and went to work... in the thing that she's do damn good at.

That was the reminder I needed. And maybe you do too.

This month marks one year of running Shine Bright Virtual full time…. and also stepping even further outside my comfort zone to join a co-working space here in town.

I’ve been craving real, authentic connection with other people who are building - not just businesses, but skills and community too. It was a wonderful reminder of how motivating it can be just to be around other humans.

Spent part of this week learning something I hadn’t worked with before. Used it for a client the same day.

I LOVE knowing that’s part of the job. The problems I solve don’t change much - businesses outgrow their systems, things get messy, we clean it up. But the tools? They keep evolving.

And honestly? I love learning new s**t.

Built myself a Zap this week that automatically tracks my hours per client - and at the end of the month, sends me a clean summary pre-populated into a ClickUp task so I don't have to do anything manually.

Here's the embarrassing part: I'd been tracking time across two different systems because I switched tools at some point and never moved one client over. And every month I was manually converting everything to decimal before I could even use the numbers.

I build this kind of thing for clients all the time.

But the truth... it took me way too long to do it for myself. That's just how it is.

Your business grew. Your systems didn't.

No wonder everything feels harder.

What I see all the time - you're holding too much in your head. You can't find anything. You're redoing the same work over and over.

It's not you. It's your systems.

Fix these three things first:
1. Get it out of your head.
Pick a project management tool. Put everything in there. Stop relying on memory.

2. Document what you repeat.
Write down the steps for your most common process (onboarding, proposals, delivery). Now you're not starting from scratch every time.

3. Centralize client info.
One place. Not scattered across emails, DMs, and sticky notes. A CRM, a spreadsheet – doesn't matter.
Just pick one.

Start there. Your business will start to feel lighter.

2025 - the year I went all in.

The year I walked away from my 9–5 and chose this full-time.
The year I stretched, learned and figured things out in real time.
The year I stopped waiting to feel “ready” and learned to trust myself.

It was the year I grew. The year I found my voice and a lot more strength than I realized I had.

The year I helped incredible clients clean up their systems. The year I built tools to help them (and their customers). The year I cleaned up the story about what I’m capable of.

Grateful for the risk, the growth and everything that came from going all in. Can’t wait to see what 2026 has in store.
