Ducked into a conference room to take an executive coaching call. I usually time-block my calendar so my worlds don’t collide, but occasionally I have to borrow space wherever I am so I can stay efficient and effective.

Happy Friday, everyone! 💥

Today, we locked in an aggressive go-live date for a client project, and it reminded me of something I’ve finally learned to embrace.

I do some of my best thinking when the stakes are high and the timeline is tight.

Pressure doesn’t rattle me; it sharpens me. That’s when my clarity, creativity, and problem-solving really kick in.

For years, I saw this as a flaw and wanted to lock in much sooner. Now I recognize it as one of the strengths that sets me apart.

Sometimes the thing you’re annoyed by in yourself is the same thing that fuels your brilliance.

𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀! 𝗣𝗿𝗼 𝗧𝗶𝗽: 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗯𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗲𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗼𝗿, 𝗡𝗼𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻.

The language we use to describe a situation will either move us toward clarity or further into chaos.

It is common to say, “that person was disrespectful.”
Instead, describe the behavior. What did they actually do?

A neutral, fact-based example:
“they raised their voice during the conversation.”

When we focus on the behavior instead of the interpretation, this helps leaders:
• stay grounded
• manage conflict without matching energy
• communicate with more fairness and consistency
• create a safer environment for problem solving
