One of my favorite parts of being a Professional Organizer is getting to see what people are preparing for.

Sometimes it’s a family getting ready for a move. Sometimes it’s a new baby, a renovation, kids coming home for the summer, or simply a season of life that’s about to get a whole lot busier.

And this time of year, we see it all!

Last week, our team was bouncing between projects helping families create a little more breathing room before summer gets into full swing. Because let’s be honest... life doesn’t slow down this time of year!

In fact, if your calendar looks anything like mine, it’s doing the exact opposite. 😅

That’s why I think organizing is so much bigger than bins and labels - it’s creating systems now that make life easier later.
🧴 It’s being able to find the sunscreen when you’re already running late.
🏖️ Knowing exactly where the beach towels are.
🥨 Opening the pantry and knowing exactly where the grab-and-go snacks are.

The spaces we worked on last week may all look different, but they had one thing in common: helping families feel a little more prepared for whatever this season holds.

Today is the first day of summer break and here I am... at work. 😅

I left this morning with a very thorough to-do list for Kendall and Lucas. Backpacks cleaned out, chores done, animals fed. Between the teens and the pets, “keeping the house intact” is basically a full time job.

I was maybe 20 minutes into my day when I got the first call. The cat had already knocked over a flower vase. Water and broken glass were everywhere. First day of summer, not even 9 am... So yeah. It’s been a morning. 😅

Now, here I sit at my desk, fully aware that approximately 50% of that list isn’t getting done today, and if I’m being honest... I’ve made my peace with it. This is the part of organizing nobody talks about. You can have the systems, the lists, the labeled bins, the whole setup, and life (or a nearly 20-pound orange & jobless cat with zero remorse) will still find a way to humble you.

The goal has never been a perfect house. It was a house that could handle the chaos and still function. Summer break is just the annual stress test. 😂
