We’re working in an era of mistrust, and most of us are too overwhelmed to see the impact on our day-to-day work and teams.

We weren’t trained for this pace.

The constant stream of tools, notifications, shifting behavior, and context switching has created less clarity and less space to think than ever.

It’s not that we don’t know how to lead or accomplish our goals.
It’s that we're too stretched to access the clarity you already have. (Like butter, scraped over too much bread, thanks Bilbo!)

I bring this up because I've lived it.
Running multiple businesses and growing large teams across dozens of accounts, I've hit the point more than once where I wasn’t thinking anymore. I was reacting.

Looking back I wish I had known to take a step back and breathe so I could see the real problem again.

That’s why I’m hosting a free 90-minute leadership reset workshop on January 28th.

Not a new framework. (Well... maybe a little but it's backed by research and insights!)
Not a productivity hack. (Just a reminder to use that noggin of yours)
Not a cheerleading session. (But if I get enough requests I'll show up with my pom poms)

This is a reset.

A space to step out of the noise, reconnect with your instincts, and see the patterns you’ve been too overloaded to notice.

Why free?
Because leaders and owners are burned out and it's impacting how we grow our communities and engage with each other.

I became a coach because I've lived with my head under a rock of ownership and hustle culture for so long, I believe that with just a little nudge in from the right person we can actually be more engaged with our work and also bring that joy back to family, friends and our communities.

This session will not only make your 2026 start with a clearer picture of where you're heading, but help me become a stronger coach to create a bigger impact.

Looking forward to learning and sharing what I've learned!

Over the past year, through coaching business owners, joining the AIGA CT board, reconnecting with my network, and having a lot of honest conversations, I’ve been noticing something repeating across every team and every industry:

We’re losing our ability to think clearly together.

Not because people aren’t smart.
Not because teams aren’t trying.
But because the pace, the pressure, and the constant shifts in direction are overwhelming everyone.

When I made the decision to step away from the brewery I founded and focus on coaching, it forced me to re-evaluate how easily misalignment and burnout can creep in. It gave me a different kind of clarity, one I’m seeing a lot of leaders searching for too.

That’s why I’m opening space for Fractional UX leadership.

It’s not a career pivot. It’s the practical extension of the coaching work I’ve been doing, helping teams realign, navigate complexity, and make confident decisions again from inside the work, not just from the outside.

If you’re feeling the pressure, the drift, or just want a sounding board, reach out. I’m happy to talk about what I’m seeing and where I think things are heading. There’s a bigger conversation coming about how we rebuild clarity and Reason in our work and communities, more on that soon.

Last week I had the pleasure of hosting an Economic Development workshop at my movie theater on a topic that’s become impossible to ignore: the rapid shift in human behavior over the last five years, and the pressure it’s putting on every business.

The data made it clear how dramatically things have changed: how people shop, make decisions, communicate, trust, and engage with the world around them.

And while the stats were specific to retail, the pressure behind them is universal.
Burnout isn’t choosing its targets based on industry.

It’s hitting retailers, makers, agencies, freelancers, hospitality, everyone.

And the root cause is simple:

The pace of change is now faster than most people’s ability to adapt.

For decades, we had time to adjust to new tools and new expectations. Now we’re hit with all of it at once, and expected to figure out not just what to adopt, but what to ignore, what to trust, and what to build from it.

And when we’re operating in unfamiliar territory at high speed, something deeper gets impacted: our confidence, our clarity, and our sense of direction.
That’s why my next workshop is focusing on one of the biggest challenges emerging from this new era:

How to maintain client trust when everything around us is evolving at a breakneck pace.

Because staying on top of these patterns is part of the work I’m committed to, and part of what I believe in.

I believe the world gets better when people lead with clarity and confidence. Clarity and confidence overcome burnout and build more resilient human beings, who then strengthen their communities.

Huge thanks to the Town of Bethel Economic Development, Ridgefield Economic & Community Development Commission, and Newtown Economic Development Committee for supporting the event, and to Russell Ferguson and Kristina Martinelli for bringing insights that helped frame the broader conversation.

If you’ve been feeling the strain, losing client trust, struggling to keep pace, or simply trying to navigate burnout while the rules keep changing, reach out for details on the next workshop.

And if you just need someone to talk through it with, I’m always here. No one should have to navigate this era of change alone.

In the last five years, we’ve seen more behavioral change than in the previous hundred.

It's something that's been on my mind for quite awhile now seeing it first hand in my businesses and former work colleagues. How we work, communicate, shop, learn, lead, it’s all shifted faster than most systems (and people) were ready for.

This isn’t just disruption. It’s compounding evolution.

Every small adaptation, every new skill, technology, or mindset we adopt, builds on the last. That’s the compound effect in action.

I have often been resistant to change myself, and I know a lot of others have as well, because it's uncomfortable and recently it just happens so fast you barely have time to consider it.

But if you can learn to lean into it, to use the momentum of change instead of bracing against it, you’ll find clarity, creativity, and even joy in the process.

That's the goal of my upcoming workshop next week. Get you to try something new. No matter how big or small.

Fear of change doesn’t just hold back teams or companies, it holds back people and our communities.

The opportunity right now is enormous for anyone willing to reframe what “stability” really means. If you haven't signed up and are looking for a new perspective on how to approach your work sign up with the link below. Remote attendance is available.

And if you HAVEN'T tried something new or outside your comfort zone in the last 5 years... well maybe a free workshop on how to do just that is what you need at the moment. Just sayin.

There’s a strange freedom in closing one chapter of your own creation, especially when it’s been part of your identity for nearly a decade.

After almost seven years, I’m officially stepping away from my role at the brewery I co-founded. For the first time in years, I’m not surrounded by the hum of glycol lines, the hiss of CO₂, or the smell of malt.

Just me, a quiet desk, two monitors, and the occasional snack that isn’t hops-flavored.

It’s a bittersweet shift. I’m grateful for everything that chapter taught me, about leadership, resilience, and how growth often means stepping away from what you built to see what else you’re capable of building.

The truth is, owning a small business changes you. It forces you to see success as something you create, not something that just happens. You learn how to make decisions that impact people, products, and entire communities, and eventually, you learn when it’s time to hand the keys to someone else and start something new.

For me, that next chapter looks a little quieter: more time with my family, more focus on working with other owners and leaders find their own rhythm, and maybe fewer burns from boiling wort.

Gratitude doesn’t begin to cover it, to my partners, our staff, and everyone who raised a glass along the way. The lessons (and the friends) will stick around long after the foam settles.

Here’s to what’s next, and to everyone still somewhere in the middle of their own build, burn, and rebuild cycle.

If your business is down, even though you’re working harder than ever, you’re not alone.

Over the past few years, behavior has changed at a rapid pace. What used to take a decade to shift happened in just 2–3 years after COVID.

The way people shop, eat, and connect is different now, and even as you work harder, it can still feel like nothing’s working.

But here’s the thing: some businesses are still thriving.
They’re not just working harder, they’re working differently.

It’s easier than ever to reach more people. The tools are out there, we just have to spend time learning them.

Think of it like learning to ride a bike:
🚲 Learn it
🚲 Progress
🚲 Enjoy

It’s all learnable.
Everyone can learn.
Everyone can progress.
Everyone can succeed.

Change is uncomfortable at first, but it’s how we grow, and how we build better businesses.

Join me for a free local workshop where we’ll explore how to shift your approach, find clarity, and build a better bike for your business journey.

In-person at Greenwood Features, Bethel, or join online.

You can offer a VIP price. But it shouldn’t be a rescue mission.

Pricing flexibility only works when you’re getting equal value in return, whether that’s referrals, services, alignment, or shared mission.

If you discount out of panic or people-pleasing, you’re not doing them a favor. You’re training them (and yourself) to see your work as less valuable.

Protect your pricing. Protect your energy.

Most founders don’t fall off a cliff.
They just… flatten out.

Growth slows. Decisions pile up.
Everything still “works” but barely.

Curve Momentum is what I call the shift that happens when you build what’s next before your business stalls out.

It’s the coaching I do. And it’s what drives the podcast I’m launching soon.

If you’re sensing friction, it might be time to climb the next curve.

I ran a burnout workshop recently where the team said:
“Honestly… we’re not sure we’re feeling burned out.”

First five minutes? Quiet.

But after I shared my own story and made it okay to talk about the hard stuff, the room opened up. By the end:

They had daily process tweaks

A shared language for how they work

And a few “why haven’t we been doing this?” moments

Lesson: Not everyone feels burned out today. But the tools still matter for tomorrow.

A client once told me: “Every two years, I burn out. Like clockwork.”

She wasn’t broken. She was just stuck in a survival cycle:

Taking on bad-fit clients

Undervaluing her work

Sacrificing health and focus for short-term revenue

The problem? She kept saying yes to work that didn’t match her vision and then resented it.

Coaching helped her break the loop, raise her prices, and set better boundaries. Burnout is real, but it’s also preventable when your business is aligned with how you work best.

I work with agency founders and business owners who are growing but overwhelmed.

If you're tired of bottlenecks, burnout, or scaling decisions that feel like guesswork, you're not alone. I coach business owners to lead with more clarity, build better systems, and finally stop being the bottleneck in their own business.
