Spring moisture can either help your driveway — or tear it apart.

After a wet snowstorm, mountain driveways start showing their weak spots: ruts, potholes, washouts, soft areas, washboarding, and drainage issues.

Moisture is not automatically a bad thing for driveway work. When the drainage is handled correctly and the gravel is shaped right, a little moisture can help with compaction, finishing, dust control, and getting the material to bed together.

The real problem is uncontrolled runoff.

Free firewood and passive income?

Rolling Stone LLC is looking to help with the firewood supply in Gilpin but we need a properly zoned yard space for processing/storing logs and a split wood pile. If you have a resource residential or commercially zoned property and are interested in saving money on your firewood cost and/or making some extra cash we would love to talk to you!

Any referral that leads us to a yard that works out will get a free cord of mixed conifer!

We’ll be using the equipment in the photo. We also have a 14’ dump trailer for making deliveries and hauling equipment. For the most part, the hum of the skid steer and zip of the hydraulic saw is the extent of our noise but we’ll seldomly need to use a chain saw for brief periods and the first couple of scoops in the trailer can make a bit of a bang. Talking to people that have been around the operation, we are told they don’t even notice it.

The minimum space needed is about 60’x80’, which is about twice the size of what is shown in the photo and access for the trailer is a must…
