Somewhere tonight, while most Americans are sitting down to dinner, watching television, scrolling social media, or climbing into a warm bed, an American warrior is standing watch.

Somewhere in the darkness, a Marine, Soldier, Sailor, Airman, Guardian, or Coast Guardsman is carrying the weight of freedom on their shoulders.

Not for applause.
Not for recognition.
Not for likes.

But because duty called.

As combat operations continue and tensions rise across the globe, America's sons and daughters are once again answering the call. They leave behind spouses. Children. Parents. Friends. Businesses. Dreams. Birthdays. Holidays. Anniversaries.

They're on airfields, bases, and outposts around the world.

They're on duty in places most Americans will never see, carrying the weight of freedom on their shoulders.

They miss birthdays.

They miss anniversaries.

They miss holidays.

They miss the simple moments with their spouses, children, parents, and friends.

Yet they continue to serve.

Not because it's easy.

Not because it's comfortable.

Because the mission matters.

Because they made a commitment.
