We left one grapevine with some grapes as a test to see what this variety tastes like. The migratory birds are arriving so it’s time to add protective netting to these two small bunches of grapes. This variety is called Dazzle and is on our friend Greg Howard first row that he planted here at De Brent Vineyard in April of this year. Cheers!

Triple digits by noon—it’s a hot one today! There is a heat done sitting over Oklahoma this week. Praying that our young vineyard survives the heat. We have been deep watering but some plants are definitely struggling. Stay cool and hydrated! Cheers!

Excited to share the first of our muscadine grapevines to reach the top wire. Others are not far behind. These grapevines have been getting watered well but as you can see the heatwave has been quite intense. The grass is stressed and brown. Some vines are struggling in the heat. We have more heat coming our way over the next week or so. I’ll be watering as much as I can without overwatering them. Muscadine grapevines love water. Cheers! De Brent Vineyard

Currently state of our back vineyard block. The two vertical shoot positioned trellises are our friend Greg’s grapevines. It’s amazing to have a mentor like Greg growing on our property so we can learn by his handiwork and vast experience. It’s so thrilling to see our once blank piece of land turn into a one day productive vineyard. Cheers to the future!
