Carly Moon Images LLC As an international photographer based in Boise, I specialize in bo***ir and your family’s happiest days Hey guys! Thanks for stopping by my page!

After spending six amazing years in England, we've finally relocated to Boise, Idaho and are completely head-over-heels! I've been blessed beyond belief with the best clients our area (wait, wait, wait.... the world!) has to offer. I'm a true lifetime photographer, and I've grown up with as many clients as the military has allowed me to. I've shot weddings, bumps, newborns, milestones, and family

portraits for many families across the globe. And I'm also going on record to say that I've had a few bo***ir sessions that may have jump-started it all! If you want a fun session filled with sarcasm, dinosaur noises, too many favorites to choose from, and not too many rules, I'm your girl.

Got back laaate last night after shooting another photographer’s wedding in the Olympic Peninsula on Sunday. I wish we would have had more days to explore but I’ve got a week full of bo***ir and even a newborn session 😍

This made me so excited for destination sessions in Europe again though! If you’re planning a trip to Italy or beyond, there really isn’t a better souvenir than a photoshoot to be honest, lol. Let’s talk!

Some of the coolest sessions I got to do the last time we lived overseas were high school destination senior sessions because every session is different and totally unique to the location and the senior. While Wichita isn't a European destination session, it was still a highly successful destination session! It was so fun to see the location that Caleb picked out for his photos.

He's always been the kindest, sweetest kid growing up (just like his momma!) and he's got a fun, vibrant personality once he opens up--exactly like the artwork on these walls!

I've been living in Idaho so long that sometimes I forget that other countries have...... Weather 😂. One of my favorite things about Idaho is the mild winters compared to everywhere else I've lived, buuuut it's made me soft, lol. Go figure the one day I had to meet up with my long-time favorite Pribble family in Tokyo was cold, wiiiindy AF and rainy, lol.

The last time I saw the Pribble family was in Washington DC in 2022, and I really hope that freezing cold weather isn't our new trend after that session and this Tokyo session, lol. But even if it is, I know they're going to tough it out and power through. They've been with me for so so long, and I love having the opportunities to meet up with the families that built me in England!

Ahhhhh! Can finally announce that I’m in the 8th edition of The Scout Guide Boise and Treasure Valley with a whole spread for Happy Hour Bo***ir - Boise Bo***ir Photography and Carly Moon Images!

It’s a BEAUTIFUL print edition featuring elite businesses in the Treasure Valley. I won’t lie, it’s a little bittersweet submitting proofs and getting release dates das before our assignment to Italy, but it has always been a goal to be a part of —We’re just going to pivot and lean harder into the destination side of things (Ohhh noooooo😎😎).

Also, I bought this dress around the same time I met Dave in 2011—SEE GUYS. HOARDING PAYS OFF SOMETIMES!

I’m going on almost 24 hours straight of yard sale prep and PCS purge. It’s been wild finding the print edition of the time I was published in an Aviano magazine with a session I photographed in Sacile, Italy. It was the same town I fell in love with and that made me hopefully for Italy orders someday.

Seven years later that’s coming true and we very well could end up living in this very same village in a few months.

It’s kind of crazy how things work out sometimes ☺️

I’m not letting the sad emotions of leaving Idaho hit me yet—It’s time to keep my eyes on the future in anticipation of everything in store.

If you haven't been here long, Carly Moon Images will be celebrating 16 years next month! In light of the recent news and overall just how nostalgic I really am, I can't help but think about the very beginning as I think about starting all over again.

But when I think back to the ones that have been there from the very, VERY beginning, this shoot with Christina goes back even further than that, lol.

My senior semester at WVU was so much fun because of this girl. Random roommate assignments can be a nightmare, but that wasn't the case with Christina. She was so energetic and down for anything--including being my guinea pig two months after deciding to pursue photography out of of college instead of using my coaching degree, launching this very page, and having absolutely no idea what I was doing.

Three of us wandered around the streets of Morgantown, West Virginia and took photos that I was SO incredibly proud of. They stayed in my portfolio on my self-built website for years and years.

A few months ago, she texted to see if I was available this weekend to photograph her mom's wedding in North Carolina. Honestly, there's nowhere I'd rather be. I haven't seen this family for years, but they still have such a soft spot in my heart. I love and appreciate so much that she trusted me 16 years ago, that her mom trusted me for her brother's senior photos, and alllllll these years later they brought me all the way across the country for such an incredibly special and important day.

It's only fair (and hilarious) that I honor the start of this meaningful day with my favorite shots from our photoshoot back in 2010😂. The 16-year veteran in me cringes at the framing, the green tint, the cropped fingers, and more. But! I stand by these photos because she's beautiful and shines through all of my technical errors.

I'm thankful for growth, both professionally and personally for the both of us and for friendships that stand the test of time.

Ciao!

As far as assignments go, we've really had the absolute best fortune throughout Dave's entire career.

We spent six years and four months at our first duty station, RAF Lakenheath. That's where everything blossomed and took off.

Next, we were so incredibly lucky to come to Idaho for another what will end up being another six years and four months where we started to build our permanent foundation.

And now in four short months, we’re heading off to our next highly anticipated adventure.

I’m finally able to announce that Dave, Knox, Beckett and I received our third assignment, and it’s to our dream base! In October we’ll be heading to Aviano Air Base, just north of Venice!

Having done sessions in the Aviano/Venice area years ago, we both fell in love with the area but never thought it would ever be a possibility. Our dream assignment is happening, and while we're feeling all the emotions that come with leaving a life we love, we're incredibly excited for what's ahead.

What does this mean for Carly Moon Images and Happy Hour Bo***ir?

England taught me how to hustle. It gave me the space to learn, make mistakes, build a business, and create relationships with clients who may be scattered across the globe like dandelion seeds, but who I still stay connected with to this day.

Idaho taught me confidence. It taught me to value my work, trust my instincts, and step fully into the photographer and business owner I wanted to become, but once only dreamed was possible.

And Italy?

I think Italy will be where I refine it all and launch into my next overdue era.

It will be a season of simplifying, sharpening, elevating, and focusing on what matters most. Taking everything I've learned over the last 16 years of building Carly Moon Images and Happy Hour Beauty & Bo***ir, tearing it all down, and rebuilding it back even better. Of slowing down to make every move more intentional.

Ironically, my word for 2026 is "Simplify." And while an international PCS is anything but simple (especially when your photography studio is bigger than your house), this assignment feels like the perfect opportunity to strip away the noise, focus on what truly matters, and enter this next chapter with intention.

While we never would have been 100% ready to leave the life we've built in Idaho, we couldn't pass up what is likely our only chance to go to Aviano, and now feels like the right time.

It’s going to be incredibly heartbreaking to walk away from everything we’ve built here personally and professionally for the both of us. We'll be back to Idaho someday though. We've built an incredible foundation here, made lifelong friends, and created a business and community that means the world to us that we hope to come back to when our time overseas is over. But for now, we're not the kind of people to let opportunity and adventure pass us by.

More details to come soon on how this transition will play out, including final availability before I close the studio and wrap things up here over the next few months in preparation for the transition.

I want to say a wholehearted thank you to Idaho and all of the people and support we've had here. People just don't understand how special it is here until you get here, and I'm forever grateful for all of you.

I love it when seniors have hobbies! It feels like less and less of a thing anymore, so when Ellie asked if we could do her senior photos at her climbing gym while I was in Wichita, I was PUMPED!

It was especially tough since I had to pack incredibly light. I was heading straight to Japan from Kansas, so I couldn't bring along any light stands or regular lighting solutions that I have. Even flashes and my reliable Rotolights were more weight than I wanted to carry. Knowing I would probably want extra light to really bring out her muscle definition as she climbed, I ordered the .Store inflatable LED light wand (okay, maybe three of them) I had eyed at WPPI in March. I've always loved Neewer's products, and these were the perfect. Her brother Caleb was an expert assistant and we couldn't have done it without him.

Teamwork makes the dream work, and I'm so happy with how these turned out!
