The Deflated Santa Syndrome.
I love Scott! He is amazing, January 2, 2013 he was out in the cold putting away our beautiful Christmas decorations from the front of the house. I thought to myself…. Brrrr… Dang Scott, it is cold out there. Why don’t you wait until it is warmer outside? He stomped off the snow and came into the house. I said “Baby it’s cold outside!” He said… “Yep, and it’s gonna get colder.” Later on the same day, we drove through the neighborhood and looked at all the pretty decorations from the holidays. I thought, they are waiting for a warmer day. A few days later it snowed, then froze, then snowed and froze again. We drove by a neighbor with their frozen, deflated Santa in their yard. I said… “Oh my gosh! That’s gonna be tough to put away now! It was frozen solid to the ground. Now, just speculating on how on earth they are gonna get that Santa off their front lawn. Well… They could wait til spring. They could pour warm water on that baby and try to pry it off the ground. Or they could pull hard, hoping not to rip the Santa in two. Or they could be like the other neighbors and just turn on the lights and enjoy the Christmas spirit until it thaws. LOL!
So, you might ask… why is Geneal writing about this on her Vila business FaceBook. Well… It is completely about business.
How many times do we think… It will be better next week, next month or even next year. How many of you have your business frozen to the hard snow and can’t figure out how to get it unstuck?
Going back to Scott, and he knowing it would get colder; I think to myself… How did Scott know it will be colder soon! Well, I asked him. He says he looked at the forecast. What a novel idea! Thanks Scott. We as business owners should look at the forecast. If it isn’t what we want, then we can make a different plan. Scott didn’t change the weather, he changed his plan!
So, if your business forecast isn’t what you want to hear… then change your plan!
Look forward to an upcoming event from Vila Consultants. If you don’t have the life you want, if your business isn’t performing to your satisfaction. Then it is simple. Change your plan! Date, time and place to be forthcoming! Excited? You should be!
Happy New Year!
