Weekend Safety Message: Be Intentional

Hey everyone—just a quick thought as we’re nearly halfway into the weekend..it’s a beautiful day here in the PNW, so the shop truck had to get washed and a good photo taken..

It’s so easy to end of the week and go into autopilot. But I’ve learned that the weekend is actually a perfect time to reset, refocus, and be intentional—not just in how we rest, but also how we stay safe.

Whether you’re out hiking, flying, road-tripping, doing the list of “to do’s” or just relaxing—take a beat to think before you act. A moment of mindfulness can prevent a weekend mishap.

Be good to yourself, and those around you. Recharge safely. See you Monday.

We’re staring 2025 off with a bang!!

We are excited to share with you our YouTube channel, and first focus series about the Part 5 FAA SMS Design, Implementation and Certification process for aviation.

Led by Kevin Sudbeck, our Chief Safety Officer and Alaska Lead, we will discuss guiding Part 135 Service and Small Air Taxi providers on the journey to achieve a certified SMS as per the Part 5 requirements found in AC 120-92D.

About Kevin: Kevin has completed the SMS Voluntary Program twice with Columbia Helicopters and has previously been a Director of Safety for nearly a decade.

Prior to Columbia, Kevin was a Director of Safety for Evergreen Helicopters, Evergreen Helicopters of Alaska, Erickson Helicopters, and Erickson Transport. Kevin is also a veteran of the US Navy.
