We’ve been blacktop crazy these past two weeks!

Getting some pipe repair patches done of our own and helping another good friend / contractor with getting his repairs paved and sealed up.

Asphalt patches are no problem for our team, and when we get called out to fix your broken pipe, you will not only get a quality repair but everything above that pipe with be compacted properly and paved with precision!

Our team packed their bags (thank you, guys) and hit the road for a job in a Baltimore, MD suburb…

This project consisted of us digging up an abounded landfill storm water culvert discharge pipe, cutting it out, and installing new special coated corrugated pipe to its very specific pitch.

The backfill process was a little different than usual. Utilizing a mix of sand, stone, & clay, we had to fill certain areas of the hole with its respective material and utilized plywood sheeting to separate the materials and pulled them higher after each compacted lift, followed by a complete clay cap and compaction.

We trucked, we dug, we slung some pipe in the ground, we backfilled, and we got home safe to our families….

Had to break out the log books for these loads!

Moving equipment down to a Baltimore suburb for an out of town job 🚛

Probably the furthest trucking deliveries we’ve done since our days hauling pipe out of Griffin Pipe Products making deliveries to job sites and pipe suppliers across the North East US. Good for the old dogs to stretch their legs rather than the usual local Jersey runs 💨

Now let’s get to work, the dirt won’t move itself! 🫡

Bulk fill material supply and dust control operation taking place in Central Jersey…

Supplying material is no problem for the team here at Woolston Construction. On this project specifically we supplied 437 tri axle loads of fill material in one day last summer!

Now in phase 2 we didn’t quite need 400+ a day but we moved the needed yardage in no time!

Along with the supply came our dust control service. Maintaining the dust on site with our water truck as well as keeping the local roadway watered and swept with our sweeper, we kept the area neat and clean, like how all jobs should be!

The old girl cleans up pretty good for being 19 years old…

Another beautiful and successful Florence Township Patriotic Day Parade!

Big thanks to Parade Director, Marty Eckert, and everyone else involved in making this day happen!

Another big thanks to our guys and their families for coming to ride on the float, throw candy, and enjoy each others company…

I think I enjoy this day more than anyone else and seeing the kids enjoy the float makes it all worth it!

Plus it’s a good excuse to sit out all night and get #62 cleaned up. You can never have a truck that’s too clean… at least not in my book 🤪

Today we gather not just for a hot dog on the grill or another planned beach day, but to celebrate the 250th birthday of the greatest country on earth.

Because of the Revolutionary War, we stand here in the United States of America today, with the ability to FREELY choose how we live our lives, the way we support our families, and much more that many other people in the world can’t do.

Since the dawn of time there has been division, but 250 years ago proves that changes can be made with a united front. Let’s honor and continue the change that our founding fathers stood for 250 years ago and remember that on this Fourth of July!

South Brunswick fire hydrant & water valve replacement

With water coming up from the cracks of the pavement, this customer called us into investigate and repair what we found to be causing the leak.

Upon our investigative dig we found the very old hydrant valve to be profusely leaking so we removed and installed a new and up to date valve as well as a new hydrant built within the last year.

This replacement was followed up by laying base asphalt then topcoat asphalt, restoring the area of blacktop we had to rip up to solve the issue.

The guys were back running hard after dark getting this environmental remediation hole saw-cut, dug, sampled, and backfilled in extremely tight quarters.

We mobilized in, kept the lowboy detached and the tag trailer ramps down, went right to work, and by midnight the machines were back on the trailers, chained, and turnpike bound…

That’s service only we can provide.

As you can see, this culvert pipe became subject to erosion from poorly compacted soil mixed with years of weather abuse leading to water sitting at the invert of the pipe rather than entering it and heading for the underground retention basin like it’s designed to do.

We came in with with our mini excavator and experienced crew members led by Earthwork Foreman, Ellis Miller, and made the culvert not only look aesthetically pleasing but also 100% functional.

With cleaning up in front of the pipe and removing all of the junk material that built up around it, as well as blocking up underneath the curbing for additional support, we were able to lay fabric to strengthen up the surrounding of the flared end of the pipe and put down core stone to aid in drainage, allowing for water to slowly trickle its way through the rocks and into the pipe headed for its intended basin rather than sit and destroy the beautiful topsoil around the pipe.

We serve customers both large and small, whether a large warehouse like this or a small home pond, we can get your property draining properly like it’s supposed to!
