The older I get, the more i realize mom was right. I just didn’t like her tone. 😆

It's funny how quickly things become normal.

A $650,000 starter home needing another $200,000 in repairs.

Theater popcorn costing about the same as a casual lunch.

Going grocery shopping and somehow spending more while carrying less.

Ten years ago these would've sounded like jokes.

Today they're just things people casually talk about while standing in line at Target.

The economy has changed a lot.

The sense of humor required to live in it has changed even more.

A brand allocated $5k in ad spend to pay me from boosting my short video.

The first payment hit last month. Another payment is scheduled for the end of this month.

And they're already spending heavily again.

A 21 second video.

No face.
No voiceover.
Just words on a screen.
Created on my iPhone 13.

I didn’t see this coming. I didn’t even tag the brand in the video when I originally posted it.

Content creation is a compounding game.

Most creators post on and off for 3 months, see little traction, assume the strategy isn't working, and quit.

But your content, your skills, your audience, and your opportunities all stack on top of each other over time.

Then one day, something happens that would've seemed impossible six months earlier.

A brand finds your content.
A video takes off.
An affiliate sale comes in.
A partnership lands in your inbox.

By the end of the year, the story can look completely different than it did at the beginning.

The creators who win usually aren't more talented.

They just stayed in the game long enough for the math to start working in their favor.

Average car payment is $767/month, $225 for insurance, and $300 for gas.

That’s $1,292/month. You have to work about 52 hours at a $25/hour job just to afford to drive to work.

Most people still think wealth is loud.

Big house. Flashy car. Designer everything.

The people who look rich are usually trying to prove it.

The people who are rich don’t feel the need to.

You start to see it in small ways.

It’s the friend who never panics about money, but also never brags.

The person who buys quality once and disappears for years.

The one who doesn’t chase trends because they’re too busy building something real.

Real wealth is quiet because it’s built, not borrowed.

It’s in the paid-off car that still runs perfectly.

The “boring” investments nobody talks about at parties.

The ability to say no to jobs, to pressure, to things that don’t align.

Wealth isn’t about what you can show.
It’s about what you no longer have to prove.

Once you see it, you can’t unsee it.

And it completely changes who you start taking advice from.

Most people spend about 45 to 50 years working.

Then retire around 67.

The average life expectancy is about 76.

Think about that.

Decades spent trading time for money in exchange for less than a decade where your time is finally your own.

That’s not a dream. It’s a trap.

The goal should be to build income, assets, and options that let you start living long before retirement arrives.

The older you get, the more exciting a good office chair becomes.

▪️Remote workers spending 8+ hours a day parked in the same spot.
▪️Gamers disappearing into their setup for an entire weekend.
▪️People realizing their back has started sending strongly worded complaints.
▪️Anyone turning a spare bedroom into a home office without spending a fortune.

This one has a high back, built in footrest, reclining seat, and enough cushioning that it looks more like a recliner pretending to be an office chair.

And Amazon has it on sale right now as I write this. Check it out 👇

What hits hardest about this list isn't any one statistic.

It's realizing how many people are playing a completely different financial game than their parents did.

A lot of Americans did everything they were told to do.

Go to school. Get the degree. Work hard. Stay loyal to the company. Save what you can.

Then they looked up one day and realized the finish line kept moving.

Housing got more expensive.
College got more expensive.
Childcare got more expensive.
Healthcare got more expensive.

But paychecks didn't keep pace with the cost of simply existing.

That's why so many people feel exhausted right now.

Not because they're lazy.

Not because they made terrible decisions.

Because the math changed.

The uncomfortable truth is that financial security today requires skills, income streams, and opportunities that barely existed a generation ago.

The people who adapt will have an advantage.

The people waiting for the economy to go back to how it was are waiting for something that probably isn't coming back.

Robert Kiyosaki recently warned that the "biggest crash in history" is starting and said people should stop saving dollars entirely. Instead, he's telling followers to "save gold, silver, Bitcoin, and Ethereum" because the dollar is dying.

Maybe one day, but today:

▪️His crash predictions have been wrong 30+ times since 2022

▪️Gold and silver are volatile. Silver alone could drop 50% before it rises

▪️Most people don't have the emergency fund they need before betting on crypto

Treating Kiyosaki's alarmism like investment advice is how you lose everything. Until you have cash reserves, steady income, and a plan, betting it all on "the crash is coming" is just another way to get wrecked.

The most brutal job a person can have is hot tar roofing. Do you agree?
