Mycelio We are a biotech company utilizing specific fungal species to consume synthetic material waste either leaked to the environment or stored in landfills.

Plastic waste in our envirnoment is one of the defining issues of our time. Generations that come after us will be addressing this issue whether we end up doing it or not. The amount of plastic and other material waste currently piling up in our rivers and our oceans is staggering - we produce nearly 300 million tons of plastic every year, half of that waste is for single-use products. There has o

nly been around 75 years of plastic production - 0.93% of all human civilization - and we have already created islands of plastic trash in the ocean twice the size of Texas. Plastic waste is so ubiquitous in nature that organisms are now creating their own ecosystems and food chains - and poisoning themselves. This behavior is unsustainable, unhealthy, wasteful, and irresponsible. To have not thought about the entire use cycle of disposable products before the factory was built is a reckless fallacy of human ingenuity. It’s time to use that ingenuity to own our predicament before ecosystems that we depend on go extinct. Mycelio is a legacy venture - we will make great strides but not solve this in our lifetime - but we don’t inherit the Earth from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children.
