Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) has fabbed a new One.MIT silicon wafer, inscribed with 339,537 names of MIT alumni, faculty, and staff from 1861 to September 2023. It was cool to find my name on them.
The three designs to date: MIT’s Great Dome (2018), the MIT Seal (2020), and an homage to the founding of the Cambridge campus a century ago (2024). For you locals, all the One.MIT wafers are on display in the ground-floor galleries at MIT.nano in Building 12.
