According to the 2023 Workforce Survey by the General Contractors of America - https://lnkd.in/g-Kjtdhn , the construction industry is facing a significant labor shortage and is struggling to fill roles. While the numbers are improving, there's still a lot of progress to be made.

In 2023, 88% of firms struggled hiring craft workers. In 2022, the number was 91%. When comparing to other industries, the national average in 2023 is at 75%. So why is construction still so much higher than other industries?

One of the challenges is that 26% of folks cited that they had unreliable transportation. Could solving logistical issues like these be the low-hanging fruit that makes a significant impact?

I'd love to hear what people think about creating programs that encourage carpooling or on-site shuttles that create that bridge to public transportation.
