Kathryn and Evan are the kind of people that love deeply and encourage and inspire those around them. The kind of people you meet and feel like you’ve known forever. The inscription on the inside of Evan’s ring, “Because He first loved us,” says it all. A reminder that our love is a response to God’s unconditional love for us. It all began with a beautiful ceremony by their pastor, followed by a reception full of dancing, delicious food and the sweet sounds of laughter and connection. What an honor it was to capture their day.

The best piece of advice I ever heard was, “don’t stop shooting.” The moment you drop the camera from your eye (yes, 🙋‍♀️still attached to my viewfinder 😂), in that next 5-7 seconds things shift. Be ready for it.

Are you doing getting ready pictures? Below are 4 things you need to do for a success!⁠

🧹 Designate a corner for everyone's things, and make sure everything is there and tops are wiped before we arrive! Clean up time means less time for getting ready photos and starting late from the get-go may have a ripple effect!⁠
⁠
👰 Take your dress out of the garment bag, remove tags and the cardboard form. Make sure someone besides you knows how to bustle your dress and attach/remove your veil! After all, you can't do it if you're wearing it. ⁠
⁠
📦️ Box up your details: Rings, ring boxes, a couple sets of stationary suites (especially if they are two sided) and items such as jewelry and shoes. ⁠Remove all of the tags from these items.⁠
⁠
🌫️ Steam EVERYTHING! From pajamas to bridesmaids dresses, make sure it's all wrinkle-free. You've spent time and money planning your bridal party look and while stains can be photoshopped out, wrinkles cannot be! Steamers also splatter, so do it in advanced so these wet spots can dry. It also can take some time, so don't wait too long to start!⁠
