Very proud of one of our amazing facilities for being recognized for their hard work! Keep doing great work at managing your water!

Congratulations to TBH’s Plant Operations Department for successfully completing an audit of the hospital’s Legionella Water Management plan.

Water systems in large facilities must be safely and effectively managed in order to prevent the growth and transmission of bacteria including Legionella. Legionella is a harmful bacteria that, when breathed in through contaminated water v***r or dust, can cause Legionnaires’ disease – an infection of the lungs.

Legionella outbreaks are sometimes associated with contaminated cooling towers (that are part of air conditioning systems in large buildings). Regular inspections, disinfection and proper maintenance of cooling towers and plumbing systems limit the growth of the bacteria.

Thank you to our TBH team for your hard work, diligence and maintenance to help ensure the safety of our patients and staff!
