A new era is underway at Sam McDonald Stadium at Daylis! 🏟️

This past Saturday, the Billings community celebrated the stadium’s grand opening and two games have already been played on the new field.

In just 15 months, Bannack Group proudly led the campaign to secure nearly $7.4 million in private support. That remarkable progress reflects the generosity of donors and a community committed to creating an exceptional home for generations of Montana student-athletes. While the work is not finished, we are excited to carry this momentum forward as the campaign approaches the finish line.

Congratulations to the Oahe Capitals and the entire Pierre/Fort Pierre, South Dakota community on an incredible fundraising event in support of the Ice Barn.

Over 140 supporters came together for an evening featuring three-time Stanley Cup champion Brian Rafalski and Pierre native/Penguins draftee Carter Sanderson — and helped generate over $333,000 in gifts and pledges toward completing the Ice Barn’s transformation into a game-ready facility.

We’re proud to work alongside OHA as this campaign continues moving toward the finish line. The support shown Friday night was another great reminder of what can happen when a community rallies behind a shared vision.

Congratulations to OHA, its campaign leadership, volunteers, donors, and everyone who helped make the evening a success!

On Tuesday, Oahe Capitals broke ground on Phase 3 of its Ice Barn transformation, a project that will expand opportunities for hockey players, figure skaters, families, and visitors across central South Dakota for generations to come.

With $3.1 million raised toward the campaign's $3.7 million goal, this milestone reflects the generosity of donors, the dedication of volunteers, and the strength of a community committed to investing in youth recreation across South Dakota.

Once complete, the renovated Ice Barn will help strengthen Pierre/Ft. Pierre's role as a destination for tournaments, events, and year-round ice sports while creating new opportunities for athletes and families throughout the region.

Thank you to everyone helping make this vision a reality.

Big news for Carter County 👏

The Carter County Museum was awarded a $1.25M state tourism grant, one of just seven projects selected across Montana. The project will nearly triple the museum’s size, enhancing exhibits and strengthening eastern Montana as a destination for history and tourism.
