Since 1934, duck stamp dollars have paid for the protection of millions of acres of Prairie Pothole wetlands. Your grandad’s duck stamp paid for this protection. So have yours. And so should your kids. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is considering weakening drainage restrictions for these protected wetlands. We’re all working to prevent these restrictions from being altered, and every voice counts. North America’s most important waterfowl habitat needs your help. We’ve got some women scattered across the state(MN) willing to mentor for duck hunters this season! If you are a woman wanting to experience waterfowl hunting- reach out! If you’re a mom and wanting your kids to experience this as well, amazing! Bring them! We will have gear for you to borrow to get you out. We will go over everything you need and all the details. I am trying to match mentors with women/youth in that region- please send me a message with your area, experience (absolutely NONE required!) and what your schedule looks like! Early teal is September 5-9, regular season opens September 26 in north zone.

In Crow Wing County we’ll also be chasing turkey with a bow October 3-November 1. This will be from ground blinds on public land. I highly suggest visiting the MN DNR website and taking their turkey class! They have a seminar on how to hunt wild turkey in MN, it is free and educates you on everything you need to know to safely and effectively hunt wild Turkey in MN.

This large Muskie was caught while chasing lake trout in Canada. First hook down, hit it like a mack truck and took off. What a fight. PB and favorite catch. We’d like to see your PB and hear the story below!
