As we keep praying for those without heat or power in this cold, we are also planning to help. Beginning tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. I have directed the old National Guard Armory on the State Fairgrounds be opened to receive donations from concerned members of the public to assist those affected by Winter Storm Fern, especially in North Mississippi.

Our MDAC team will be collecting bottled water, nonperishable food items such as soup and other canned goods, can openers and basic essential paper products to be delivered to North Mississippi as soon as roads are safe and passable.

Concerned members of the public, as well as churches and nonprofits can deliver donations starting tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. at the Old Armory. We are partnering with MEMA to assist to provide delivery of these items to the pressing needs in North Mississippi.

The Armory will be open beginning at 10:00 a.m. tomorrow morning, Monday, January 26, 2026 until 5:00 p.m. Deliveries will be received and made throughout the week to help those with the greatest needs.

Please keep praying for and checking on all our Mississippi neighbors throughout this bitter cold weather. Help is on the way! 🙏 💪

"Moo the cat" has a very important job at the MSU Horse Unit. A heavy weight is needed at all times to keep the feed bags in place. Moo has volunteered for this duty out of the goodness of his heart.🤪🤣 😴 Keep being you, Moo!!!
