We have moments in our lives that change our trajectory while it’s happening and we don’t even realize it. Moments that are frozen in time. For me 9/11 was one of those days!
My wife and and I were sleeping having both just finished working night shifts. We both got done work around 0700. She as an Emergency Room RN and me as a 9-1-1 Dispatcher. We were snuggled up in bed at my parents house. Jenna was 8 months pregnant with our son Dominic. Around 9:30am our phones started going off. It was my mother calling. She told us to turn on the news. The images we were seeing unfold before our eyes were horrific. AMERICA was under attack!
Soon after I was called back to work. As a 9-1-1 Dispatcher for my county, we coordinated strike teams of Fire and EMS units to be sent north. Units were assembled and sent to the Meadowlands in NJ. From that staging area they would be sent to areas of lower Manhattan to assist with rescue & recovery efforts.
I worked late into the night and returned home to my wife. Now wondering what the days and months ahead would look like? What world would our soon to be son grow up in? How would Americans move on from this? Were our Brother’s & Sisters in emergency services OK?
The horror for many still remains as 2,977 lives were lost. Scars still visible and invisible mental scars. Loved ones who never made it home. On the other hand, the stories of normal, everyday people being “heroes” in some form, show the Lord is still here. Angels walking among us to help their fellow sister/brother during their time of need.
So yeah, I remember 9/11 like it was yesterday. However, I also remember 9/12 and the days, weeks, months immediately following it. WE the PEOPLE, came together for our neighbors. No matter your race, religion, skin color or sexual orientation. WE helped each other, while also restoring faith in humanity. Let’s do that again!! NEVER FORGET! 🇺🇸
“In you I trust, O my God. Do not let me be put to shame, nor let my enemies triumph over me. No one whose hope is in you will ever be put to shame, but they will be put to shame who are treacherous without excuse.” – Psalm 25:2-3

There’s something special about a custom project that’s built to be seen for years to come! 🌳🪵

These custom signs and directional markers were crafted from soft maple, then CNC machined for accuracy and consistency. Each piece was finished to bring out the natural character of the wood while giving the signs a clean, professional look.

Built for more than just looks, these signs will be placed outdoors and put to work guiding visitors around the property. From the large Eagle Pond sign to the custom directional arrows, this project was all about combining craftsmanship, precision, and functionality.

Another custom project coming to life from our South Jersey Woodshop! 🔨🦅

Looking for a custom piece like this? Reach out today and let me bring your vision to reality!!

☎️ I’m incredibly grateful to the Cumberland County Communications Center for trusting me to create this retirement flag for Senior PST Newell Branin Jr.

💛 This one was especially meaningful because I had the privilege of working alongside Newell for over seven years. After 37 years as a 9-1-1 dispatcher, his dedication to serving our community deserves to be celebrated.

Congratulations on your well-earned retirement, Newell. Thank you for your years of dedicated service. It was an honor to create something to recognize your incredible career and more meaningful because of our friendship.

Enjoy buddy!! 🚓 🚒 🚑 🇺🇸

🩶 YOU’LL NEVER KNOW HOW STRONG YOU ARE UNTIL YOU HAVE NO CHOICE. 🩶

Today marks 15 years since I was flown to Capital Health after experiencing stroke-like symptoms and a brain bleed. I’ll never forget that day or the uncertainty that came with it. What followed were months of rehab, depression/anxiety, and learning how to walk, eat, and do everyday things all over again.

Fifteen years later, I still live with a brain tumor. Some days are easier than others, and I still deal with the mental health challenges that came from everything I went through. But if there’s one thing this journey has taught me, it’s that we are capable of so much more than we think.

Along the way I’ve also faced a career-ending shoulder injury as a firefighter, an autoimmune disease, and plenty of other health challenges. There were times I questioned why these things kept happening, but looking back, I realize every setback shaped the person I am today.

This journey has strengthened my faith, taught me to appreciate the little things, and reminded me never to take another day for granted. It also showed me how important it is to lean on the people who love you. I truly wouldn’t be here without my family, my friends, and everyone who has supported me over the years.

To this incredible maker community, to the customers who’ve trusted my work, to the arts for allowing me to express myself creatively, and to the friends I’ve made because of this little business...thank you. You’ve given me purpose, encouragement, and a lot of reasons to keep moving forward.

If you’re fighting a battle that nobody else can see, keep going. One day you’ll look back and realize the very thing you thought would break you became the reason you’re stronger.

Here’s to 15 years of perseverance, faith, healing, and God’s countless blessings.

Keep grindin’, friends. 🤙🏼
