Road trip to Maine. First stop Newport (Buskers pub recommended) and laughed at a shop called Fat Face. Did the scenic tour bus around Newport. Fun.

Then lunch in Salem MA. Town full of witches in Oct. Great lunch at Finz. Found a good sign for our front door in Brig.... "Witches Welcome."

Thanks to brother Bob for house and puppy watching while we are away.

Grateful for fast responses by Brigantine police and fire department. In the middle of the night our house fire alarm went off and stayed loud for 15 minutes. We could not find any problems but did not have any idea what was up. We called 911 and had a team of police and fire at our house very quickly. They found a bad smoke detector and gave us peace of mind. Very impressed by the local team. Thank you.

After dropping friends at Newark airport we had dinner at Jon Bon Jovi Soul Kitchen in Red Bank. What a great experience. Awesome food. Friendly service. And Pay if forward approach to payments.

What a great event! Last night we held the web seminar on the 2024 Hurricane Forecast, Preparation and Recovery.

Meteorologist Joe Martucci kicked off the webinar with an overview of the anticipated storm season and provided information on how to stay in touch during storm events. Kim Schenck of IAI provided insight into the details of insurance policies and how to check that you are getting the coverage you need at a reasonable cost. And I followed with an introduction to Home Watch services and how Downbeach Home Watch can be you local eyes and ears during the offseason when your home is unoccupied.

What is Home Watch? Home Watch provides remote owners of Jersey Shore properties a local advocate to check in on their property and report on the condition of their home. Home security systems are good but do not provide full visibility into the home's condition but what happens when the power goes out. Downbeach Home Watch is the only National Home Watch Association accredited member based in Atlantic County NJ.
