One of today’s jobs was a challenge. We had to move a vent pipe for the customers new roof seeing it was to close to the side. We went in cut the roof to access the area above the kitchen that had no access and in that small attic area we moved it so now the roofing company can do their job.

Well today working up in the Burlington / Torrington area donating our time today helping out where we can. We normally don’t do Boilers but today we did. We went in and Removed a really old boiler, cleaned up the area and did some repiping of the system because they had a coil on the old boiler and a water heater which we made them separate now. It’s was a long day due to the fact this was a small mechanical room in middle of house on a slab so instead of one person piping the boiler, one doing electrical and one doing oil, only one person ( Me ) could be in room at one time and had Kyle pretty much prep and hand me things to get it done, plus we had to Phone a friend ( Thanks Ernie) on some fine Tuning and Now this customer is ready for the heating season with a new efficient Boiler.

Yup another Burlington customer and this was an interesting find. 1). The kitchen faucet needed replacement along with the shutoffs under the sink. 2). Another toilet shutoff in need of replacement. 3). Was the interesting one. Customer had new fridge delivered. The ice maker and water dispenser wasn’t working. We checked the shutoff which was a full port ball valve and was only a trickle coming out. We shut down the water and drained system but had full pressure which makes no sense. Well we found the problem. It’s original with the house, someone tapped into the heat lines for the icemaker which is a big NO NO, and explains no pressure because the boiler is 12-15lbs. They have lived there for 15 yrs and the ice maker on old worked sometimes but not the water which is why they bought a new fridge.

This customer in Burlington had another crack in the kohler carrier wall hung toilet. This one unfortunately we had to cut the sheetrock out to remove the flush elbow off the tank so it could pivot out enough to slide the now one on with replacement of the O-rings. After wall is repaired we go back and reinstall the toilet.

Out in Burlington today solo while the guys finish up some new construction before the weekend. Today I’m doing some old school lead work on cast iron that another contractor tried to do it but it still leaked and was sticking out to far. Using my 100+ year old caulking irons I installed a new cleanout with some Oakham and lead wool
