Position Description
3PLR is seeking to add Logistics Resource Consultants with first-hand experience in Supply Chain Logistics, which might include work in transportation or warehousing operations, 3PL and Logistics sales development, global logistics forwarding, industrial engineering and executive management.
We are seeking experts with exposure to various customer industries, such as Automotive, Industrial, Technology, Medical/ Life Sciences, Energy/ Elements, Retail/ CPG, and Food & Grocery.
Our Resource Consultants also leverage their expertise for recruiting. Prior recruiting experience is not required. We need industry experts who know the jobs because they’ve done the jobs and can help clients to define business needs, job responsibilities and requirements, and qualify candidates who truly fit the role.
Your work interests might include consulting, recruiting and interim management roles. Our consultants have 15+ years of work experience and degrees, typically a master’s degree in Business or Engineering.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Leverage Supply Chain Logistics expertise to serve client needs.
• Engage in projects and deliver results related to services within your expertise, which might include transportation, warehousing, manufacturing or sourcing.
• Provide advisory services which may include strategic planning, network design, facilities design, process engineering, labor productivity, project management, logistic outsourcing, M&A support, coaching, IT integration and continuous improvement. Services are based on expertise.
• Lead projects and manage teams based on staffing needs.
• Manage your own time, priorities, workload and commitments.
• Perform analysis, produce deliverables, and provide recommendations addressing the challenge, approach, scope and responsibilities defined by the client and represented in the Statement of Work.
• Support recruiting by verifying client requirements, reviewing resumes, conducting interviews, qualifying candidates, and facilitating the hiring process.
• Participate in business development, which might including contacting potential clients, documenting services and qualifications, defining potential client service needs, developing statements of work and proposals, planning for engagements, and closing service agreements.
• Collaborate with 3PLResources to provide input on business plans for service development and go-to-market strategies.
• Capture and accurately report time and expenses, manage project resource time, and deliver work products on-time and within budget.
• Travel to meet prospective and active clients for business development and work.
Position Requirements:
• Ideal candidates will have 15-plus years of work experience in Supply Chain Logistics in various roles including operations and general management, logistics service sales and account management, engineering and continuous improvement, consulting or executive management.
• Very strong capabilities for quickly assessing Supply Chain Logistics business challenges, defining approaches and scope, estimating the potential cost, value and time commitment, and leading action.
• Exceptional analysis skills and ability to develop innovative solution options.
• Knowledge of leading industry practices and trends.
• Prior experience with consulting and business development, including sales leads, proposal and contract closure, preferred.
• Proven success in managing projects and teams, project plans and budgets.
• Demonstrated success in delivering on SOW with measurable results.
• Prior experience with recruiting is NOT necessary. Prior hiring experience helpful.
• Ability to establish budgets, and track and report results.
• Certifications in Lean, Six Sigma, Quality, APICS, etc. helpful.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business or Engineering. Advanced degrees preferred.
