Let’s make this a conversation.

What’s one question you’ve always wanted to ask a speaker… but never had the chance to?

Maybe it’s about confidence.
Maybe it’s about handling nerves, building a message, or owning the stage.
Or maybe it’s something deeper, about impact, purpose, or what really happens behind the scenes.

Drop your question in the comments, or send it through next week’s stories, we’re answering the real ones.

Because the best insights don’t just come from speaking… they come from asking.

People don’t act on information, they act on what they feel.

That’s where storytelling changes everything.

As a leadership tool, storytelling goes beyond sharing ideas, it creates connection, builds trust, and turns messages into something people can actually see themselves in. It’s the difference between an audience simply hearing you… and being moved to do something about it.

The most effective leaders don’t just present facts, they share experiences, paint vision, and make the message personal. They bring their audience into the story, so the outcome feels real, relevant, and possible.

Because when people see themselves in the story, action becomes natural.

If you want to inspire change, don’t just tell people what to do, show them why it matters and how it connects to them.

If you’re building leaders or planning an event, storytelling isn’t optional, it’s essential.

Book speakers who know how to turn stories into action, and audiences into momentum.

Big congratulations to Sabrina Lamb, Founder & CEO of Wekeza and proud member of KBC Speaks on the powerful NYC launch of the Wekeza app.

What’s being built through Wekeza is bigger than technology. It’s a movement centered around financial empowerment, access, and creating opportunities for communities around the world to build wealth with confidence.

The NYC launch brought together inspiring leaders, changemakers, and future investors from across the country to continue important conversations around financial literacy and economic growth.

A few standout moments from the event:

NYC Councilmember Dr. Yusef Salaam shared a powerful message on financial empowerment as a civil right.

World of Money alumni, now thriving in Wall Street and Real Estate, demonstrated the real-life impact of financial education and long-term investing.

Wekeza is now officially LIVE in the United States, Kenya, Uganda, and Rwanda, with more global launches on the way.

At KBC Speaks, we’re honored to have Sabrina Lamb as part of our community of leaders, speakers, and visionaries who are committed to creating meaningful impact through education, empowerment, and innovation.

Next stop: Atlanta.

The conversation continues on June 11 at The Gathering Spot for an evening of networking, celebration, and community building.

Silence isn’t empty, it’s powerful.

In a world where everyone is trying to say more, the most impactful speakers know when to pause. That moment of stillness? It gives your message room to land, your audience time to feel, and your words the weight they deserve.

The power of the pause isn’t just about delivery, it’s about clarity. When your mind is clear, your message becomes stronger. When you’re intentional with your silence, your voice becomes more impactful.

Great speakers don’t rush to fill every second, they create space that draws people in.

Because sometimes, what you don’t say is what your audience remembers most.
If you’re developing speakers or planning an event, remember, true impact isn’t just in the words, it’s in the moments between them.

Book speakers who understand not just how to speak—but how to truly connect.

Being in that room, you could feel it right away, this wasn’t surface-level talk. It was honest, grounded, and practical. Dr. Kim McNair as moderator really set the tone. The way she guided each discussion made everything feel intentional, like every question was designed to cut through the noise and get straight to what actually matters.

A lot of what was shared around leadership really challenged me, because it wasn’t about titles or status. It was about clarity. Clarity in decisions, clarity in direction, and clarity in how you show up when it matters most.

There were moments that made me stop and reflect: Am I really leading with clarity, or just moving fast without direction?

If you were there, you know the impact.
If you weren’t… you missed more than an event, you missed perspective.

Don’t wait for the next recap. Book now and be in the room where clarity and leadership actually come alive.

From opportunity to the stage, this is what alignment looks like.

Through the support and platform of KBC Speaks, she was able to step into a space where her voice truly belongs, on stage, in front of the right audience, delivering a message that matters.

This isn’t just about getting booked.
It’s about being positioned.
It’s about being seen.
It’s about being ready when the opportunity shows up.

KBC Speaks doesn’t just connect speakers to events, it helps amplify voices, build credibility, and open doors that lead to real impact.

And this moment right here?
It’s proof of what happens when preparation meets the right platform.

If you’ve been waiting for your chance to speak, this is your sign.
Your voice has a place. You just need the right stage.

This is one of the favorite quotes of Elizabeth Oates, and it’s easy to see why.

“You can be a fearless, boundary-setting, strong, confident, independent woman… who is also soft, nurturing, kind, and graceful. You can have self-discipline AND self-compassion. You can be emotional AND tough. You can be everything and anything you want. That is your power.”

It’s a reminder that you don’t have to shrink parts of yourself to fit a label.

You don’t have to choose between being strong or soft.
Between being driven or compassionate.
Between being emotional or resilient.

You’re allowed to be all of it.

The real power comes from embracing every side of who you are—without apology. Showing up fully, without filtering yourself to meet expectations that were never meant for you in the first place.

That’s what makes your presence real.
That’s what makes your voice powerful.
That’s what makes you unforgettable.

Speaker Spotlight: Patrice Washington

This Mother’s Day, we’re shining the spotlight on a powerful voice who embodies purpose, leadership, and impact, Patrice Washington.

As a transformational speaker, award-winning thought leader, and the force behind the Redefining Wealth movement, Patrice represents what it means to lead with intention, not just in business, but in life.

Her message goes beyond financial success. She challenges us to redefine wealth through well-being, purpose, and alignment, values that resonate deeply with the role of motherhood. Because at its core, being a mother is one of the most powerful expressions of purpose-driven leadership.

Through her work, her voice, and her presence, Patrice inspires people to move from scarcity to possibility, to build lives rooted in meaning, not just metrics.

This Mother’s Day, we celebrate women like Patrice who remind us that true wealth isn’t just what we earn, it’s how we live, lead, and love.

Redefine success. Redefine wealth.

Managing stage fright and performance anxiety doesn’t mean eliminating nerves, it means learning how to control them.

Even the best speakers feel it. The difference is, they know how to ground themselves before and during the moment.

Here are 3 simple breathing techniques you can use before stepping on stage:

Box Breathing (4-4-4-4)
Inhale for 4 seconds → hold for 4 → exhale for 4 → hold for 4.
Repeat for a few cycles to calm your nervous system and slow your heart rate.

Physiological Sigh
Take a deep inhale through your nose, then take a second quick inhale on top of it.
Slowly exhale through your mouth.
This instantly reduces stress and helps release tension.

Extended Exhale Breathing
Inhale for 4 seconds, then exhale for 6–8 seconds.
Longer exhales signal your body to relax, helping you feel more in control.

Do this backstage, in your seat, or even right before you’re called up.

Nerves don’t have to control your performance.
When your breathing is steady, your mind follows.

Save this for your next talk, and walk on stage with more control and confidence.
