It's important to vet potential connections before sending a request. Here are a few things to be mindful of:
โข Do you have anything in common, such as location, experience, groups, or related fields?
โข Are they active on LinkedIn?
โข Does this person have the skills or experience that could be valuable to you?
โข Would you be interested in collaborating with them in the future?
๐ If you answered yes to most of these questions, then it's worth sending a connection request. But if not, it's probably best to move on. ๐
Here are some additional tips for vetting potential connections:
1. Take a look at their profile. What do they do for a living? What are their skills and experience? What are their interests?
2. Check their activity. How often do they post on LinkedIn? Do they engage with other users?
3. See if you have any mutual connections. This can be a good indication that you have something in common.
By taking the time to vet potential connections, you can build a stronger network of people who can help you achieve your professional goals.
I'd love to hear your thoughts on vetting potential connections. Have you ever had a bad experience with a connection you didn't vet properly? Or, have you ever made a valuable connection because you took the time to vet them?
