💜 Caregiver Corner – Sunday Edition 💜

Today, I choose me.

As caregivers, entrepreneurs, and people with a heart to serve, we spend so much of our time making sure everyone else is okay. But today, I want to remind you that it’s okay to choose yourself too.

I stopped waiting for apologies that may never come.
I stopped waiting for people to understand my heart.
I stopped waiting for permission to heal.

Instead, I chose peace.
I chose love.
I chose joy.
And I choose those things every single day.

Before I can pour into my clients, my business, my ministry, my family, or anyone else, I have to make sure my own cup is being filled.

So this Sunday, take time to reset.
Go to church.
Pray.
Rest.
Reflect.
Prepare your heart and your mind for the new week ahead.

Your assignment isn’t to carry everyone’s burdens.

💜 Caregiver Corner Friday 💜

The Heart of a Caregiver

This week reminded me of something every caregiver needs to hear:

Never underestimate the impact you have on someone’s life.

For the past 14 months, I had the privilege of caring for an amazing gentleman. Every day wasn’t easy. There were doctor’s appointments, conversations, laughter, difficult moments, and days when I questioned whether I was doing enough.

As caregivers, we often leave work wondering:

“Did I do everything I could today?”

“Did I make a difference?”

The answer is…yes.

Sometimes we don’t realize the impact we’ve made until the journey comes to an end.

This week, his family reminded me that caregiving isn’t just about helping someone with daily tasks.

It’s about building trust.

It’s about showing compassion.

It’s about treating people with dignity.

It’s about becoming a source of peace during one of the most difficult seasons in a family’s life.

This week, I experienced something I’ll never forget.

As my caregiving journey with this family came to an end, they hugged me, thanked me, walked me to my car, and reminded me how much I meant to them. They didn’t see me as just a caregiver. They saw me as someone who became part of their family during one of the hardest seasons of their lives.

In that moment, I realized something…

Sometimes we spend so much time wondering if we did enough that we fail to see the difference we’ve already made.

To every caregiver reading this…

Thank you for the meals you’ve prepared.

Thank you for the appointments you’ve driven to.

Thank you for the hands you’ve held.

Thank you for the conversations you’ve had.

Thank you for the patience you’ve shown.

Thank you for loving people who may not always be able to tell you, “Thank you.”

Your work matters.

Your compassion matters.

You matter.

Always remember…

People may forget the tasks you completed, but they’ll never forget the way you made them feel.

As caregivers, we don’t always receive awards or recognition for what we do. Sometimes our greatest reward is knowing that someone felt safe, loved, respected, and cared for because we showed up.

Never underestimate the impact you have on someone’s life.

💜 Founder’s Friday 💜

This week has been one I’ll never forget.

For the past 14 months, I had the pleasure of serving an amazing gentleman through Krystal Home Services LLC as one of my private-pay clients. Over time, he became more than just a client—he became family.

As many of you may know, in the healthcare industry there is something called Long-Term Care, where Medicaid helps cover caregiving services for individuals who qualify. When he transitioned to Long-Term Care, his family didn’t want to lose me as his caregiver.

They asked me, “Krystal, can you do us a favor? We know this is going to be a sacrifice for you, but would you apply to the company so you can continue taking care of him?”

Without hesitation, I said, “Yes.”

I want to be transparent because sometimes people think that because you own a business, everything is easy.

The truth is…it’s not.

Sometimes, as entrepreneurs, we have to work a job while building our dream. Sometimes we have to wear every hat in the business—the CEO, the marketer, the scheduler, the recruiter, the accountant, and even the social media manager. We create the flyers, pass out business cards, network, and keep showing up because we believe in the vision God has given us.

There are days when burnout is real.

There are days when you question yourself.

There are days when you wonder if you’re doing enough.

This week reminded me that sometimes we’re so focused on what we think we could have done better that we forget to recognize everything we did right.

As caregivers, especially when someone is nearing the end of life, it’s easy to replay every decision in your mind. You ask yourself, “Did I do enough? Could I have done more?” Sometimes people even speak into your situation and cause you to question yourself.

But this week, God reminded me that I gave everything I had.

I showed up.

I served with compassion.

I treated him with dignity and respect.

I loved him like family.

Watching his family embrace me, thank me, tell me they didn’t want me to leave, and share how much I meant to them reminded me that compassion leaves a lasting impact.

This week, I realized something.

I don’t just provide care…I impact lives.

That is the foundation of Krystal Home Services LLC.

Because at the end of the day, people may forget the tasks you completed, but they’ll never forget how you made them and their loved ones feel.

💜 Welcome to The Caregiver’s Corner 💜

Today’s Topic: It’s Okay to Ask for Help

Can I be honest?

This is something I struggle with.

I don’t ask for help.

I have always been the one people call. The one people depend on. The one that figures it out. The one that keeps pushing even when I’m tired.

But what I’ve learned is… just because you’re strong doesn’t mean you have to carry everything by yourself.

As caregivers, whether we’re caring for someone at work or caring for someone we love at home, we get so used to saying, “I got it.”

Sometimes we don’t ask for help because we don’t want to be a burden.

Sometimes we don’t ask because we feel like nobody will understand.

Sometimes we don’t ask because we’ve been disappointed before.

And sometimes… we simply don’t know how.

I can honestly say that this is an area I’m still working on.

I’m learning that asking for help isn’t weakness.

It’s wisdom.

It’s self-awareness.

It’s recognizing that if I keep pouring from an empty cup, eventually there won’t be anything left to pour.

One thing I tell myself now is this:

You don’t have to carry every burden alone.

Sometimes asking for help is one of the strongest things you can do.

Today, I just want to remind you to pause and think about one thing you’re thankful for.

Some days life can be overwhelming. Some days caregiving can be exhausting. Some days business ownership can make you question if you’re making progress.

But even on those days, there’s still something to be thankful for.

Today, I’m thankful for another day to serve, another opportunity to learn, another chance to grow, and another chance to make a difference in someone’s life.

Gratitude doesn’t make our problems disappear, but it reminds us that our story isn’t over.
