You’re invited to join us for a Buffalo Professionals Under 40 Summer Networking Event! This event is a casual evening of connection, conversation, and community with professionals from across Western New York.

Buffalo Professionals Under 40 creates a welcoming environment for people from different industries and backgrounds to come together, share ideas, make new connections, and build relationships both personally and professionally.

Today we are shining a career spotlight on marketing professional Christina Kramarz, MBA!

Christina is a Marketing Manager for John W. Danforth Company, a mechanical contracting company based in Tonawanda, New York. Christina has been with Danforth for 9 years and in her role, she focuses on developing and executing marketing initiatives that strengthen brand presence, engage target audiences, and deliver measurable business results. She is recognized for her collaborative approach, working closely with cross-functional teams and leadership to bring creative ideas to life.

Outside of work, Christina enjoys a variety of hobbies that help her stay balanced and inspired. She has an interest in creative pursuits, fitness, Finger Lakes wine trips and exploring new places in her community, all of which contribute to her fresh perspective in the workplace. She is a big Buffalo sports fan and loves the Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres. Fun fact: she is a cat mom to six cats— all rescues.

Christina is also committed to giving back through volunteer efforts, supporting local initiatives and community-driven programs whenever possible. She is a member of NAWIC Buffalo Niagara, and has partnered with the Salvation Army of Buffalo, FeedMore WNY, Goodwill WNY, Compeer Buffalo, Roswell Park and Special Olympics in various fundraising efforts. Her dedication to both her career and her community reflects her passion for making a positive impact in all areas of her life. Christina and her husband Kevin reside in Niagara Falls.

Today we are shining a spotlight on the awesome career path of Cait Berns! ✨

Cait is a Buffalo-based real estate and property management professional at MJ Peterson Real Estate. Born and raised in the area, Cait comes from a family deeply rooted in the Buffalo community. Her father owns Sorrentino’s Spaghetti House, a longtime local favorite on Main Street in Williamsville, where she learned valuable lessons about customer service, relationship-building, and running a successful business from an early age.

Cait began her career in property management eight years ago while attending the State University of New York at Buffalo, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Communication. Since then, she has continued to grow her experience in both property management and real estate, with a focus on helping clients find the right home, whether they plan to buy or rent.

Known for her approachable and supportive nature, Cait is passionate about making the real estate process feel comfortable, seamless, and straightforward. As she continues to grow in the industry, she remains committed to building trust and lasting relationships through a client-first approach rooted in communication, dedication, and genuine care for the people she serves.

Her strong local ties, entrepreneurial background, and connection-forward mindset allow her to bring heart, understanding, and professionalism to everything she does.

What a night at Big Ditch Brewing Company!

Our May Networking Event brought together an incredible group of Buffalo professionals under 40 for an evening filled with meaningful conversations, new connections, and genuine community building. From first-time attendees to familiar faces, the energy in the room was unmatched and a true reflection of how much this network continues to grow.

Between insightful conversations and informative speakers, the night was a reminder of what makes the Buffalo professional community so special: people who are eager to support one another, share ideas, and create opportunities together.

Buffalo Professionals Under 40 highlights professionals committed to shaping the business landscape in Buffalo and WNY.

This career spotlight features an incredible local HR leader, Laura Azzarella, PHR, MS HRM! The President of the Buffalo Niagara Human Resource Association (BNHRA), the pre-eminent HR association of the region, and a 2025 Business First HR Impact Award winner. For over 15 years, she has served as a strategic HR leader for global organizations, leading with a tech-first and continuous improvement approach.

A first-generation college student, Laura began her career in media production before pivoting into the HR field, where she built her skillset inside diverse environments including aerospace, 24/7 manufacturing, higher education, and the federal government. She holds a Master’s in HR Management, a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification from HRCI, and a Google Cloud certification in Generative AI. A sincere lifelong learner (and self-professed "huge nerd"), she is the first to dive straight into new HR tools and tech, and share with others what she's learned.

A throughline in Laura’s work is centered on "making HR make sense," to leaders aned employees alike. She has been a "first" in multiple organizations, including the first HR leader to sit on the President's Cabinet at Daemen University and the first Regional Talent Manager of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Buffalo District, where she earned a Civilian Service Achievement medal from the Commander for her talent acquisition program develpment.

As a leader in the Western New York professional community, Laura is delighted to speak with, mentor and encourage emerging HR leaders and loves to volunteer her time coaching high school and college students on job search and interview strategies. Outside of the community, you can find her gardening, taking a walk with her husband and two rescue pups, or enjoying travel adventures.

Ashley Tombolesi is the Communications & Development Coordinator for the WNY Women's Foundation, where she supports fundraising initiatives, manages donor communications, and amplifies the organization’s mission through strategic messaging and outreach. She brings a strong background in nonprofit work and is deeply committed to strengthening her community.

Ashley earned her degree in Communication Studies from the University at Buffalo and is a proud alumna of Mount Mercy Academy, a local all-girls school. Her experience in an all-girls educational environment shaped her perspective and continues to inform her commitment to advancing equity and opportunity for women and girls.
