Our work in Irondequoit has recently been featured on WXXI News, the Rochester-area branch of NPR News. We have been working for over a year to conduct a massive survey of the entire Town of Irondequoit.

We have identified dozens of individual buildings and several historic districts, including one of about 4500 buildings, as potentially National Register Eligible.

We invite you to read more (and listen to the 2 minute clip!) about this important project through this news link to see how we have helped Irondoquoit keep its history alive for generations to come.

Consultants say Irondequoit could gain six new historic districts, including Sea Breeze and St. Paul Corridor, boosting preservation and local pride.

It is the culmination of over three years of our work on this.

Once listed in September, this will be the largest district in New York State!

Buffalo may soon be home to at least two more historic districts designed to support and enhance its architectural legacy and protect its past, but the differences between the two could not be starker in illustrating both the challenges and opportunities of preservation.

Our Lead Architectural Historian Annie Schentag prepared the DOE for this building, as a board member for Preservation Buffalo Niagara. This is a big win, as the building is less than 50 years old!

When it comes to unique and unusual buildings in Western New York, The Turtle (Native American Center for the Living Arts) in Niagara Falls is truly one of a kind.

We enjoyed preparing the National Register nomination for this building, now successfully listed.
