Presented by Fedrick Consulting, and hosted by Off The Rails Market Place & Venue (Formerly, The Makers Market), The Young Founders Program is designed to help students build confidence, solve real problems, and learn the basics of entrepreneurship in a hands-on way.

Students will learn how to:

AI is becoming part of everyday business, but the rules around AI are starting to move quickly. Recent regulatory developments in places like Connecticut, Colorado, Georgia, and the EU are showing us something important: Businesses need to start thinking about AI responsibility now.

Market Day for our very first Young Founders Program was something special. If you have pictures from the event, please share them in the comments!

These young founders showed up, worked through real business concepts, identified problems, created solutions, practiced talking to customers, and then had the courage to present their ideas to the community.

At Market Day, each participant was recognized with a Certificate of Completion, but more importantly, they were recognized for the effort, creativity, confidence, and problem-solving they brought into this program.

We received a lot of great feedback that will help us continue improving the course, but I also want to pause and say how proud I am of these young founders.

A few comments from the surveys really stood out:

“This is really cool. The kids seem really excited. Their ideas seemed to be ideas that they believe a lot in.”

“There’s a lot of value to having a program like this in our community.”

“Learning to problem-solve is the most valuable part of this program.”

“I learned talking to customers isn’t as scary as you think.”

That last one is exactly why this matters.

This program is not just about teaching kids how to start a business. It is about helping them build confidence, think through problems, communicate their ideas, and realize they are capable of creating value.

I’m already working on plans for the next Young Founders Program, along with future workshops and opportunities.
