Remote Hydrants

🔥 Remote Hydrants in the news — and put to work on a real wildfire.

Hoodline recently covered Lake County’s testing of portable Remote Hydrants as a backup water supply for wildfire response.

But these systems didn’t stop at the demonstration.

During the Lucas Fire, two Remote Hydrants were deployed at Keeling Park, pumping water directly from Clear Lake to support firefighting operations.

That’s exactly why we developed Remote Hydrants: to help firefighters access water in places where a traditional hydrant isn’t available or the water source can’t be easily reached by apparatus.

Bringing the water source to where fire apparatus can actually reach it. Remote Hydrants turn nearby static water into accessible roadside water supply.

A great explanation from Lake County Fire Chief Willie Sapeta on why Remote Hydrants matter.

During a wildfire, a small community water system can be overwhelmed by firefighting demand. Chief Sapeta explains how Remote Hydrants can access alternative water sources, helping reduce demand on the CSD’s domestic water system.

More water for firefighting without draining the community’s water supply.

Thank you Lake County News for the coverage.
