A little perspective from todayās walk
I was geeked - I spotted one of my favorite birds, a great blue heron.
It was standing quietly along the boardwalk, completely content justā¦being.
Not rushing.
Not trying to get somewhere else.
Just present. And well, maybe doing a bit of hunting food š
As I kept walking, surrounded by wildflowers, still water, and all the little sounds of nature, it made me think about how easy it is to get caught up in always doing.
Always planning the next thing.
Always feeling like we should be accomplishing more.
One of the biggest things Iāve learned from my mentor, Sharon Hess, is that when weāre truly aligned, life shouldnāt feel like weāre constantly running on a hamster wheel. Things can flow without forcing every step.
I needed that reminder today.
Sometimes the best thing we can do is slow down long enough to notice whatās already around us.
For me, today it was a great blue heron, a peaceful walk, and a full heart. š
What helps you slow down when life starts feeling busy?
